First app issues/installation/running

Hello all. I have worked through several issues prior, such as a package installing, but hanging up and black screens, to then say program unexpectedly terminated. This seemed to have occurred after I changed my home screen from a splash (was incorrect) to a tab screen where I have created links to the 5 pages (also added). I have tried to work though these issues for the past week before posting here, but I am at a dead end. My project has been exported (unsigned) via .apk and I have attempted to run on my Android phone. (emulator shows icon, then a blinking (maybe prior splash screen still showing up?)) when I click on install on Android (.apk), I get an application not installed on phone. I know these issues can be caused by several things and I am not sure which/what/where to start/logs/code to post. Suggestions? thank you PS. Buzztouch is an awesome interface!!

Take a step back for a second, and watch a few of the BTU videos... they're pretty good at giving you the overall 'big picture' for using it with Android or iOS. When it comes down to the 'nitty gritty', I'd suggest watching one of GoNorthWest's excellent YouTube videos (www.youtube.com/gonorthwest) and choose one that is closest to your setup (he has a few different ones, mac, pc, windows versions, etcetera...) but they're all worth watching. Total time invested will be about 30-50 minutes or so... Total time saved is immeasurable. :) After going through those, you should be able to successfully go from control panel to device with little problems. But if you do, then we'll be happy to help. (BTW, did you set your android device to 'development' mode?) Cheers! -- Smug

Thank you. I think my first post was a bit short (or missing many steps that I had done), but I believe I got it. There seems to be an issue (at least with my app) with using the non tab layout with a button template. I have switched to a tabbed layout and it looks excellent. Prior to this,I have watched several videos and made changes to the manifest, uninstalled Eclipse/Java, killed the emulator, etc. and numerous other changes. I thank you for the quick response; looks like I have a good direction to go now!
