App coming up on screen blank

Hey all, So I'm having trouble with one of my apps. I'm updating one of my 1.4 apps to 2.0. I've gotten everything worked out, no errors and am able to export the apk. When I try and load it on my phone it comes up blank. No home screen, no way to refresh the app. Nothing. Has anyone had this problem before? If so, what was the solution? Thanks in advance!

Did you drag the plugins folder into your project?

Are you doing an actual update of the v1.4 app already installed on your phone, or a clean install of the new v2.0 app on your phone? My guess is that if you're doing an update to the older version, it may be encountering an error. You could hook the phone up to Eclipse and see what LogCat says is the problem. Does it work in the Emulator? Mark

Hey Mark! Long time no talk! So it's a new app, I don't have it on my phone, a fresh install of 2.0 I will try and hook up my phone and run eclipse, is there any program within eclipse I need to run to do this? I haven't tried on the emulator on my computer (it takes forever to load, and I have a nexus so I never check on my computer), but I will test now. Thanks!

Hey! Nothing special you need to load in Eclipse. Just hook up your device to your computer, run the app in Eclipse, and have it sent to the device instead of an emulator. Then you should see debug output in LogCat. Mark

Anything after that? And is this the LogCat tab? It looks like it's from the Console tab? I'm most interested in what shows in LogCat at the time you launch your app and don't see anything. Mark

Any other messages after that? Sometimes it gives details of the error after it says there was one. Not much to go on here other than there's a problem loading the home screen.

Right? That's the strange thing. It doesn't seem to want to load the home screen. Could it be that one of my icons isn't named properly (one of them is named icon)?

Could very well be...or a bad color tag or something. But most of that should be called out in LogCat. If you want, send me your BT_Config.txt file for review and I can see if there are any obvious issues. MrkFleming at gmail dot com Mark

So what became of this? I'm finding that if I delete some plugins and refresh, that those changes are not updated in the iOS simulator. Right now I've got a blank sim screen, even though I have 2 plugins in my control panel. Scott

Blank sim screen generally means that the plugin isn't part of the Xcode project (you can drag it in). Have you verified they are? Mark

Well, this is where I ask to look at the Debug Console info or LogCat output. It's hard to say what's going on without extra information that's contained in those outputs. It could be that it's not grabbing the updated config file, or using the wrong one, or any of a dozen issues. If there is more info you can provide, hook us up, and we'll check it out! Mark
