I'm Baaaack.....

Hey BTers, So I poked around here last year, and then decided to go in a different direction. Well.... NOW, it's important for me to get up and running on BT ASAP. I know its going to take lots of trial and error and what not, but I have a specific purpose in mind for my apps and am interested in any and all ideas on how to absorb the BT methods as quickly as possible. thanks Scott

Welcome Back! A lot has probably changed since you were last at Buzztouch: The 1.5 to 2.0 Transition, the Plugin Market, Self Hosting... Are you using BT2.0 for your new projects? Jake

Hi Jake, Yeah. That stuff was just coming online last year. I'm poking around in xCode again, (after recently buying a new iMac) and running into this thing when I launch the simulator that says: "Developer Tools access needs to take control of another process for debugging to continue. type the name and password of a user in the "Developer Tools" group to allow this." I'm a pretty bright guy, but have no clue what this means. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Haven't seen that before. Are you logged in as an Admin? I found this on Stack Overflow; maybe it can assist? http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9132826/stop-developer-tools-access-needs-to-take-control-of-another-process-for-debugg Do you have the latest of everything? If you're installing from an archive, it may be a mismatch between iOS version and OSX version... Cheers! -- Smug

I found that too. But seems to be a bit more advanced than I can grok ATM. Yes, my mac account is an Admin. osx 10.8.4 xcode 4.6.3 I'm pretty sure my stuff is UTD. Do you think I'm missing something? Courage.(to quote Dan Rather) sb

Hmmm... I'm running 10.8.4 and 4.6.3 as well, as admin... yada yada... Did you use your admin credentials in that login box? I've never had that experience, so I can't say for sure... Are 'you' launching the simulator, or are you launching it by trying to run an app within xcode? Maybe there is a difference? I've never really started the simulator, I've always let Xcode do that. I'm curious how things go; let us know. Cheers! -- Smug

Welcome back Scott! Wonder what happen to you! The alert message your getting is xcode trying to communicate with your computer. It's the admin password you set up. This generally happens when you first buy the computer. So glad you are back! Sheri
