My latest App finally got on after 3 rejections!

Hi all, I am pleased to say my latest app has just got on the Appstore after a plethora of rejections and communications. However, to be fair to Apple, they offered advice when I asked for it and accepted the app when I finally conformed to what they wanted. My only annoyance is that one of the images has 'Then' in it when it should have said 'Than'! I make these silly errors a lot and really should re read stuff! I might just ditch that screenshot, or at least put it last in the order! Anyway, please take a look and if you'd like a code, just yell! I'm really keen to hear what people have to say, positive or negative :) All the best, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/one-liners-for-whatsapp/id664897586?ls=1&mt=8

Good stuff, Alex! Interested in how you implement the "Add to Favorites" feature. Got a tutorial for that? Mark

Hi Alex, check the same line that 'then' is on, you might spot a second typo :)

@Mark, thanks mate. Sure thing, more than happy to advise on that. It works specifically for the app as I use a UITextField to paste the one liner into, then use a separate button to save the string. It is saved and will not go, even when the app is properly closed down. Then I have used the same principle to copy the string in the UItextField as with the others but have another button as the touch in the area in favorites is to paste, if that makes sense? I'll put some sample code up in a bit.

@appmaster, it started with the app not looking great and having limited functionality. I was also using the conventional way to copy the text, which gave options like, 'select all', etc when pressing the text. They wanted that changed so I worked a way to copy it all at a single touch. I also totally redesigned the UI and integrated facebook, twitter, and the functionality to email a friend, contact us, and some sample wallpapers from another app and some sample stickers from another app. Finally they rejected it based on the fact that the title was misleading, that it had no functionality with whatsapp. So I was either going to have to change the name and risk losing its visibility or incorporate whatsapp. I maneged to find the url scheme for whats app and thefore provided a link to whatsapp within the app with the following: NSURL *whatsappURL = [NSURL URLWithString:@"whatsapp://"]; if ([[UIApplication sharedApplication] canOpenURL: whatsappURL]) { [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL: whatsappURL]; } I asked apple what I needed to do to improve it and they told me. Dont be afraid to ask, so long as you are polite and courteous they are really very helpful.

Basically the favorites stuff. I'd love to have a Favorites screen, and then any screen that people want to add to that, they could. Or, even just a good, illustrated explanation of what you did in yours, to add to my arsenal. Thanks! Mark

So in the .h we set up the outlets and in this case we will be pasting into a uitextfield - This is where we want to save the text - UIImageView for aesthetics, uitextfield over the top for the function. We have also got 2 buttons, one to save the data - it really does save it! One to copy, to copy from the uitextfield whenever we want it. http://imageshack.us/a/img96/9894/ajwb.png

In the .m Firstly we set up the uitextfields with the paste function - to paste the text into so the ibaction is to paste and each field to be referenced changes depending on which one is pressed. http://imageshack.us/a/img825/3493/op6s.png Then we set up the 'save' ibaction, reference the relevant field and add an alert! http://imageshack.us/a/img826/4563/zgs.png Then we add the ibaction for copying the text that has been saved, again each field referenced and an alert view added http://imageshack.us/a/img62/3395/8tqe.png Finally set up the uipasteboard in viewDidLoad and add the relevant releases! http://imageshack.us/a/img822/5114/cd4r.png All hooked up in the nib. Open for any Q's you might have! All the best buddy!

Sorry for the delay John. I have used revmob for the ads in this. Simply add the code to the appdelegate then import in every .h file that you want the ad displayed in :) Simples! Cheers Alex
