Apps tips for beginner

Hi guys, I’m totally new to apps and java programming. I started 3 years ago with C language. Followed some tutorials here and also on youtube and now I want to start creating some simple apps for android. Do you have any tips, which ones should I try for beginning? I mean something very simple, like cm/inch converter etc. Maybe you will ask , don’t you have some own ideas? Yes I do, but I’m too far from creating something that difficult :=) . So I want to practice on something very simple as I did learning C programming (Fibonacci series, .arrays ,prime numbers , - if you know , what I mean.).Thanks.

Welcome! I think you'll find it pretty easy to catch on once you look around a bit... Take a glance at the Buzztouch University courses, and that should help you figure out a few things. There is a new user webinar each week or two, and those can be found in the menus off the left side of your account page. Worth the time to go. With respect to things to practice with, I can't think of anything that would be a waste, so just pick a direction and start playing around with it. If you have questions, you've already found the right place to go! Cheers! -- Smug

Welcome @Magnum45, You can create a converter on html, then use the html url plugin and put the link to it in there and that will work. You can do a few searches here in the threads and find a few more ideas. LA

Go to YouTube and type in "the new Boston." He has some pretty good java program tutorials and eclipse sdk tutorials. Go through those and it might give you an idea of where you are strong and where you are weak, and what you might be interested in doing.
