Unlock features using Facebook share - how?

Has anybody successfully implemented the ability for users to unlock features by sharing an app on Facebook? I know it's possible, but I wouldn't know where to start..I am not at all familiar with the Facebook SDK. If we could figure this out and maybe add it to a how-to I think it would be a really amazing feature.

i've been planning to do that for weeks now! just too busy with some other stuff. the thing is.... it's kind of against facebook policy >>>>>> IV. Application Integration Points You must not incentivize users to use (or gate content behind the use of) Facebook social channels, or imply that an incentive is directly tied to the use of our channels. >>>>>> you can check it here https://developers.facebook.com/policy/ now im saying that it's just 'kind of' against their policy because some app developers are doing it and are getting away with it. the greatest example is the temple run game, if you explore the game you'll see that it has a facebook like and twitter follow option that will give the user extra coins. what they actually do is just create a button that leads to facebook/twitter and just give the coins after the user clicks on the button, even if the user doesn't like or follow them. just sharing my thoughts.. let me know how it goes!

That's interesting, I never thought of just unlocking the feature even if they didn't share..that would make the whole process a lot more simple. I imagine the vast majority of people would go through the whole sharing process either way This is one of those situations where I can't help but wonder, how would they know? Maybe they would see a sudden burst of shares related to my app which would then result in further investigation? if Temple Run is getting away with it, then I'm probably going to have to give it a go as well thanks for the info!
