Thought this may help new people like myself

Hi Everyone, I am new at this and am trying to make my first app. Well to make a long story short I was having problems with it suddenly not responding at all. I could not figure it out. I removed the app from my buzz touch account and started over several times. And when I got to Xcode whatever changes I was making in buzz touch , nothing was changing in my app in Xcode. Being new at this I could not figure it out. Finally I thought ok, let me think about this, I deleted the app from buzztouch console and started over. Then I deleted it from Xcode, and basically started over only to find the same problem. What I did not do and realized finally that I did not delete the icon on the iPhone simulator. I thought it couldn't be that easy? Could it? Well I deleted the app on the simulator and suddenly all my changes I been making did in fact showed up. So the reason that I am saying this is for all the new people out there and don't want them to get frustrated and give up. If this helps even one person this post is worth it for me. And for me it was a learning experience. Now I know what to do if I run into this again.

Now maybe some of you have experienced this and can help me. I am placing a image inside my app, which I want to have rounded corners. I see that you can do this in the layout for the menu's but don't see that option in the background image area. Does that mean that I need to use photoshop to round off my image before inserting into the project?

Hi, Yes for rounded corners on a background image you should use software like photoshop. Buzztouch doesn' t have an option for rounded corners on a background image. Best regards, Danny

Just in case you dont have photoshop and want to save some coin. You can always use something like Gimp or Pixelmator if I am correct. Someone did a short write up about good alternatives to some of the more expensive tools out there.

Great share WizardHunt! When things go wrong with the simulator and I don't know why I do two things: - I reset the simulator to clear it (IOS Simulator - Reset Content and Settings) This erase any cached data about your app on the simulator. - I clear the Derived data. This helped me the most, not sure how it works but Xcode keeps a snapshot of your app. Somethimes it is a pain as the derived data would show up out of the blue instead of your latest data. (Finder - Go - Go to Folder - type "~/Library/" - Developer - Xcode - Derived Data.) Cheers, Farcat

Actually I have both Photoshop CS5 and Pixelmator , however I am running into another problem with placing the image in a certain location and the choices in buzz touch console is not precise enough for me. How is it to be able to move a image up or down as needed while doing it with more precision?

I would strongly advise users to consider a vector program to make icons. Can't get anymore precise than vectors. I am using illustrator but there is a free equivalent: Inkscape. http://inkscape.org/ Re your issue with the buzzyouch console, can't you make the graphic to upload a perfect square so you just select the whole thing? Well the problem I am having if I use the whole image it will go underneath my navigation bar so I was looking for a easier way to do it. My first attempt at the using photoshop i got the rounded corners but the top part of the image went underneath the navigation bar and cut off the new corners that I made. I will look at the inkscape program to see if it helps. Thanks Farcat. WizardHunt

I looked at inkscape but it looks like it is for snow leopard only, I am running mt lion 10.8.3. So that may not help me unless I missed something.

Good post! Believe I did something similar when I started. It took a while to realize the simulator is just like a real phone. Once something is loaded it stays unless you overwrite it or delete it, just like a real phone. Inkscape. Cool. Tim
