New new baby!

Hi Gang, Here is my latest app for a client made in collaboration with a local design company. This is a guide for a tourist attraction with a twist. It has loads of audio and great panoramic views, but here is the catch: you have to be on-site to view them all. Thanks to the BRILLIANT @Kittsy and his AMAZING geoblock plugin we have made a happy customer. Big thank you as well to @SmugWimp, @PSMDanny and @chris1 for their advice, guidance and snippets. Very happy me. It free to download on the app store, comments and criticisms are welcome. https://itunes.apple.com/am/app/cable-car/id660171263?mt=8 Farcat

Yikes! Over 50MB in size, not allowed to download via AT&T. Have to wait until I get home to download over WiFi. Dang it. The screenshots look nice. Why the horizontal format? -- Niraj

Yeah, it took forever to polish off the details of the app. The app is a mammoth weighing a whooping 109 MB. It has a lot of sound (audio guide) and massive retina images. It is an issue but the user will need to use the app only once. The tourist attraction will provide wifi for users to download the app. I will trim things down nonetheless in other versions. The Landscape format was a client requirement. Since it is mainly scrollable panoramas it had to be locked in landscape. This gave me quite a lot of trouble. @Kaybee, the geo-block is a beauty and worth every penny. Although it is quite a niche feature I hope @Kittsy will put it on the market. Ask away if you have any questions! Most of the HTML and graphics are not mine so I can't take credit for that. Thanks for the feedback! Farcat

Wow. That's about all I can say. That looks awesome. If I ever get down to that part of the world I'll make it a point to see how it works in person. You da man, as they say.

Thanks all for all the great comments! To be honest there isn't much to the app, just html screens and button nav screens (+ Kitssy Geoblock). Most of the HTML I didn't write (so I can't share) but I am more than happy to give pointers if somebody needs help and PM me. The bulk of the work was to "fix" things, mostly because of the landscape lock. In the nutshell: - I change the right icon to Twitter icon in the nav bar: <a href="http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=46CF05CFB05831FA01D5A29" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=46CF05CFB05831FA01D5A29</a> - Lock to landscape: <a href="https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=EE47565648254126813B81E&command=isSearching&currentPage=1&topicTitle=landscape&createdBy=&repliedBy=&minViews=-1&maxViews=-1&minReplies=-1&maxReplies=-1&forumCategory=" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=EE47565648254126813B81E&command=isSearching&currentPage=1&topicTitle=landscape&createdBy=&repliedBy=&minViews=-1&maxViews=-1&minReplies=-1&maxReplies=-1&forumCategory=</a> - Fix issue with nav bar height (changes from one screen to another): <a href="https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=8C9CC5C947DE523605DA662&fid=A2F08DF30D5B47C3F930107&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=8C9CC5C947DE523605DA662&fid=A2F08DF30D5B47C3F930107&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=1</a> - Fix issue with button menu not staying in place vertically: <a href="https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=E55913BA68BF45060B175CA&fid=BC70C36A743CD4FAD95D17F&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=&currentPage=10" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=E55913BA68BF45060B175CA&fid=BC70C36A743CD4FAD95D17F&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=&currentPage=10</a> - Remove extra space on the right of menu button (worked this one out myself): in BT_screen_menuButton.m go to line 437 change: contentWidth = (numButtons + 1) * (boxWidth + buttonPadding) + 100;; to contentWidth = (numButtons) * (boxWidth + buttonPadding);; Hope it helps! :) Farcat

You have ended up in the showcase that I will be demonstrating in my BuzzTouch class later this week! I am teaching a group of employees on "you too can make an app without touching a line of code!". I promise not to let them in on your secret of all that modification. :-) I shall send you an email with the PDF of the final presentation for your approval to allow reference to the app. -- Niraj
