Subscription Plug in

I know Apple allows this and have done some research, I'm just wondering if anyone knows if the in app purchase plugin allows you to set up a subscription based section of your app? Thanks Nate

I wanted to say Welcome! (I did *not* want to admit I haven't a clue about your question!!! Lol!) But I'm sure if it can be done anywhere on iOS, it can be done within BT, which is nothing but more iOS. I'd ask someone who does more 'commercial' work than I do, like Kittsy or Chris1 or someone. They'll have a better idea about that, because they've gone that route before; I have not. good luck, and let's cross our fingers for your success! Cheers! -- Smug

Hey Smug Thanks, and cool. I'll check with them. I'm hoping it can be done within BT. I'm looking forward to spending more time learning BT. Do you know how or where I can get in touch with Chris1 or Kittsy? Thanks and if there is anything I can do to help in any way just give me a shout. (Just learning app development, but pretty good in other business areas. Nate

They're always hanging around the forums, but if you need to get in touch privately, you can send them a private message; just click on their names (easiest to find them would be the Top 25 list) and they'll respond in time. Cheers! -- Smug

Nate - welcome to Buzztouch! You asked a great question. There's a couple of things to be considered here. The first is whether the 'subscription' will be to grant access to certain content in the app, or whether it is for something external to the app (such as a "doughnut of the month club"). The second is whether it is a paid subscription or free with email signup. If the subscription is for something external to the app, you won't be able to use the "Easy In-App Purchase" plugin. Apple forbids it, actually. On the other hand, if the subscription is for content in the app, you will have to use that plugin (or the same type of login contained therein). Apple requires it. I believe you'll have to do some custom modifications to the plugin to make it work with subscriptions, but I could be wrong. It's been a while since I've played around with that plugin, and I know theMonster has updated it since. Of course, the above assumes this is a paid subscription. If it's a free subscription (such as an email newsletter), then you'll need a signup form in the app. My upcoming "Webform Generator" plugin will do nicely, although it may be a while yet before it's released to the public. (The plugin market is currently undergoing some big renovations, which is why we aren't seeing new plugins). Last I heard, those renovations were scheduled to be done at the end of July. Not sure if that's still the case or not though. Once that happens, expect to see a ton of new plugins hit the market.

Chris1- thanks for the help. I am building 2 Apps. One for my Business FiTemple, that is a free one that will have things like our website, store, a free subscription to our email etc. The second one will have a free section, well free once the 99c app has been downloaded. Then I'd like there to be a part that people can get a year membership for 9.95 or a month one for 99c. That's the route I'm thinking of going as far as pricing goes. What's your thoughts on that? What I'm offering is unique in a sense, but I'm very surprised it is not already out there. I do have a Magic Members Account for my business for the future, as we are looking to develop a Fitness Based Social area with programs, plans etc. but I would like the Subscription App just to run separately within the App through Apple. (Working on a Budget too as we are a young business) so I'm hoping that it can be done within BT. Let me know when your Plugin comes out., and thanks for the help.
