Can not log in to self hosted control panel

Hi all: Just installed the BT-server to my server. Installation went without a hitch, but it will not let me log in. However, I did change my username and email for my buzztouch account about an hour ago before installing the script on my server. Could someone tell me where to begin to look for any possible errors? I also did not get any kind of a verification email when I changed my email address. Was I supposed to? Thanks.

the default login/pass on a BT Self hosted server is: login: [email protected] pass: buzztouchpro usually you have to initially login with this before you can change anything... Try it and see what happens... Cheers! -- Smug

Thank you. That took care of the login, but now when I create an app, the error says The application's data directory on the file system does not exist? This application does not have a data directory on the file system? I re-downloaded the BT-server files and the files folder is completely empty. I did this twice. Any ideas?

Well, the 'files' directory is empty on a new install. The 'files' directory holds 'all the gold'... your plugins, your applications, all the good stuff. But it only gets populated when you do the populating. If you haven't looked at them yet, there are some good tutorials in the 'How To' section that covers all the initial setup steps. https://www.buzztouch.com/resources/ However most of the tutorials were written for BT v2.1.7 and before. Since we're on 2.1.8, the 'config.php' file, found in the root of your BT server directory, isn't completely populated with the installer script; you'll need to manually add a few values to make sure it runs correctly. So after you run your BT installer, check the config.php file and fill in the rest of the variables. If you don't, it will cause odd issues that will keep you from doing most of the fun stuff. and read through the tutorials from GoNorthWest and David; it's useful information to know. OK, do i ever feel silly. One simple thing messed it up. Under the App Physical Path of the config file, i left out the sub-folder where the app is installed. Yikes! Anyway, now everything works perfect. Just added all the plugins without a hitch. What a great script. Thank you very much for your help.

No problems. Glad you're up and going. Don't feel silly; it's the little things that mean so much. :) Cheers! -- Smug
