Scringo 2.2.2 Upgrade

Has anyone else upgraded to Scringo 2.2.2? "Guy" (that's his real name) from Scringo said that you should only have to replace the new scringo folder in your project to upgrade. I did that, and Scringo seems to work in the simulator up to when I click on "Log in" whereupon it crashes the app. Anyone else upgraded or had this issue? Thanks

Hi Steve, Please make sure to remove the existing Scringo framework from XCode (make sure it is completely removed) and then add the new version (from Xcode). Also, please note you should add AdSupport and MobileCoreServices frameworks (they weren't necessary in older versions of Scringo). Elon

@scringo. The AdSupport and MobileCoreServices frameworks are already in my app. Are you saying I need to do something other than replacing the Scringo folder? Is there a "dummy's guide" to upgrading? :-) i.e. what to delete/replace from within Xcode and from outside Xcode? Thanks

Xcode doesn't always handle well replacing a folder, if the new version of the folder has new files in is. So it is more safe to simply select the existing Scringo folder (in Xcode) and delete it (using the right menu) from your project completely (make sure everything was deleted), and then add the new Scringo folder to your project, again using Xcode. We will try to explain this procedure better on our docs. Elon

Thanks. Elon. I will try it from within Xcode. I was told to do from the finder in one of the emails. Cheers

Good Morning. I just tried to update to Scringo 2.2.2. in Eclipse for Android. I deleted the original folder in Eclipse then re-imported 2.2.2 resource folder. It imported 2 other resources, sample and google-play.. The sample resources had some errors, but thinking it was just a sample I deleted it. Now when I try to open the app on my test phone it crashes. This did it as well prior of me deleting the sample resource. Any advice would be appreciated... thanks, Howard

Did you try this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16596969/libraries-do-not-get-added-to-apk-anymore-after-upgrade-to-adt-22 It's usually the issue... If not, try contacting me directly at [email protected] Ofer

That document looks like it is referencing upgrade of Eclipse ADT plugin, which I did not do. I am trying to upgrade scringo only. Thanks, Howard

Hi Guys. I basically got it working for iOS as follows: - exit XCode - delete the Scringo folder inside your project via the Mac Finder - open Xcode - delete any remaining references to the Scringo folder or framework in your project via Xcode - copy the new Scringo folder back into your project (drag and drop into the Xcode project and make sure to check off make a copy, so an actual copy is put inside your project) - run in simulator - build, install, and test on actual device (iPhone/iPad). I find that you need to test on an actual device. Anyone else have anything to add to the above that I might have missed? Cheers Steve

@hasher13. No idea. I haven't created any Android apps yet. But, I would assume the same steps would apply, ie swap out the Scringo folder to upgrade. Give it a try and tell us how it goes :-) Cheers

That is what I did, and then started to get all the errors. On the Scrino design page it specifically says to delete the folder under the IOS instructions but does not have that for the Android instructions. But I did delete and reimported the new resource file and this when the problems started to happen. My app would crash and not open at all. H-

Next step would be to contact Scringo support. Their support is VERY good. Cheers
