If Statement: 2 Layouts, One Nav Bar

Hi All, Is it possible to have a statement that works like this: if there is a back button on a screen, then resize a box. Here is my problem: I have a nav bar and when ever the back button comes on it, the items geet pushed over off the screen. I would like to remove the items instead of them being half on the screen. Screen shots? What kind of screen. I think the bt view controller has some code on how to handle the navbar.

Ok, here is the scoop: I am building an app which has a search bar and text in the nav bar. Because the search bar uses a custom navigation bar view, I lost the title text. I re-created the text and shadowing with UILabels. I have the screen linked in 2 different places, one off of a menu, and one off of the tab bar. When it loads off of the tab bar, (no back button) the nav bar loads fine. When it loads off of the menu (with back button), the search box gets pushed off of the right side of the screen. I would like the search box to just shrink to be smaller when a back button is present. Is there an if statement I could use which will allow me to set settings if there is a back button vs. no back button? Jake
