Scringo app_id for Facebook

Finally got Scringo to work on my android app and have a couple of problems. 1) when I try to connect to Facebook it has an error "the parameter app_id is required. I am not sure how to obtain the id or where to place it once obtained? 2) For some reason the app crashes and forces to stop when I chose a bottom tab that is linked to a menu with image screen. any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you so much, Howard

@Mr stuck, for push notifications, here is the thread on where to post the code: https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=29DAD79CDC3970107BD3751&fid=F006D74B653CA9FFE3CB28E&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=1 For the radar and tab, you have to enable it over at Scringo: https://dev.scringo.com

So I did the first part pretty easy, but now I am having troubles with the second part. I am not able to generate the hash key through the command prompt. The system can not find the path specified. Any suggestions. Thanks, Howard

I too had trouble using the command prompt to get hash key so I found a workaround for it. In eclipse open keytool, then select open key store. Once you have your chosen keystore open in eclipse then just copy your sha-1 key and paste it into this online tool to get the hash http://tomeko.net/online_tools/hex_to_base64.php?lang=en

@Raoul. I forgot to say it was android I was referring to. I have added all the code and enabled radar etc in scringo but it just won't work for me.

@Mr stuck, I thought you were talking about iOS, I have not tried Scringo in android, but I do recommend you email Scringo support team: [email protected] I was having trouble with iOS, and they helped me until I was finished. Hope this helps, Raoul

If you have never created a keystore then export your app as an android application and you will be prompted to use existing keystore or create a new one. You only need one keystore and can sign all your apps with same keystore so make sure you add a long validity. I made mine for 1000 years lol.

Have you published any apps to play yet? If you have then you would have signed it with a keystore

Yes its published. So, which one do I use my debug keystore or my release keystore. Right now I am testing scringo on my debug version. Sorry for the stupid questions. Howard

Personally I never use a debug key. I always use the release key to sign apps.

Oh I use a debug key for my testing version then do a release key for my final version to upload to the market. I thought that was norm? In one of the videos or document I am not sure if it was older or not there seemed to be 2 boxes for the hash code. One for the debug and one for the final release. I can only see one long box. Thanks, Howard

I have always used release key even for testing. In the Facebook app page I only inserted the release hash. You can add more if you like but not a requirement.

Do you know how to add more? There is only one field box for the hash key. Do I separate them by a comma or something? Thanks, H-

Once you insert one and hit enter it seperates itself.

Glad you got it working. Did you get the radar working? I can't seem to get it to work. I have followed all the steps in video and also advice from @Sandeep to use v1 key but it just won't work. Any tips

HA! I am still on a high that the FB thing worked and have not tempted to move on. :-) I don't know if I am going to implement the radar feature into this one, but perhaps my other one. thanks again, Howard

No probs. Have you done the twitter login also? Its fairly easy and just in case you haven't heard, the scringo SDK changed very recently to allow login with email address also so make sure you are using the very latest SDK. All the best

Oh, no I did not hear! Oh boy, just figured this out and now they are changing. I have to see how to upgrade it. Also I don't have a twitter account. Can I still have it for the app? Thanks, Howard

Just download the new SDK from scringo and the email login is included so no extra coding is required. For twitter just register an account to gain access to the developer page and create an app. Just remember to fill the callback URL with anything like WWW.test.com and copy the keys into scringo properties in eclipse. No hash keys needed so easier than Facebook to add.
