Pebble

So I'm seriously considering getting Pebble for me and my girlfriend, however, on the pebble website it says "pre-order" and I could have sworn it's already out and for sale. Chris, you have one right? I hate making purchases and waiting months for the release - lol! Does anyone know anything about this? And for those that do have Pebble, how do you like it? Worth the money? Do you still use it or has it become a paperweight on your wrist? For those who never heard of Pebble: http://getpebble.com/ Cheers, David https://buzztouchmods.com

Pebble - rock. We playing word association? I know Chris1 posted a review somewhere and I think I read they are struggling to keep up with demand, may have dreamt that though. You'll be sick if the iWatch comes out this autumn though, no?

@MacApple if iWatch gets announced and I just spent $300 + tax on a Pebble I would probably have a heart attack. ...Of course, I really like Glass. So many new options. Cheers, David https://buzztouchmods.com

I hear you buddy. If I could just live in a tent and eat water and bread only I could buy gadgets all day long.

Ya, I think Chris1 made some custom artwork for his. I heard recently that most people (younger than myself) don't wear watches anymore. Seems like an odd statement if a company can't keep up with demand on a $150 "watch". I think Apple was pretty close with the 6th gen Nano. If they would have built bluetooth into it, and let it display the time without having to hit a button, I would probably be wearing it now. I've got a nice watchband for it, but I can't imagine plugging earphones in it while working out. They would also probably have to go the ePaper route, rather than a TFT for power consumption reasons.

Still wear my trusty Seiko kinetic. Would switch to a decent iWatch implementation though.

@AlanMac Second one I've had, first lasted around 9yrs, this one is probably 4 yrs old. Goes well with my diamond earrings and nose piercings. I jest.

I use my iPod Nano 6th Gen as my watch. It always gets people talking! But it does have a few inconviences. Pebble is cool, but I'd wait until the autumn when they release the iPad, iPhone, iOS and OS X. That'll be the time to get it, because an iWatch has a fairly good chance of being released.
