Configuration changes after Eclipse ugrade

Wasn't sure what to title this...I have updated Eclipse (configured app for Google api 11), installed & configured correct sdk (as far as I can see), re-built my app for Android to accommodate error with Menu Button with Images, getting no errors. My problem is, I can install and run on Jelly Bean, but no longer on Gingerbread as I had before with my previous version. Can someone give me the correct settings that I should modify in the manifest xml file to allow the app to install on as many android systems as possible? I am still a newbie and this is all so very confusing. I am trying!!

Try adding the following lines in your manifest file- <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="8" android:targetSdkVersion="17" /> The default is- <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="8" This will show that you have tested the app on android version 17 and minimum version on which app should run is android version 8.

If I compiled under Google API 11 does that make a difference?

You should compile your app against google api level 17, this way your app will be targeted to run on latest jellybeans 4.2.2 with backward compatibility for upto google api level 8 i.e. gingerbread 2.3 (including ics, honeycomb and other versions of gingerbread). For that you will have to download the google api level 17.

To further clarify...I use the Build Path as Android: Google APIs Level 17...and then indicate in the manifest file: <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="8" android:targetSdkVersion="17" /> Correct?
