Using Mind Map to Design App

I've been familiar with 'mind mapping' software for some time now, but never really embraced it because my mind is pretty linear, and doesn't work with Mind Maps the way a more creative type would. However, I recently thought, and implemented, mind mapping software for my app design. Despite the fact that I paid a noticible amount for 'Mock Up' software, I find it takes about as much time to Mock it up as it does to build it, so why bother. However, Mindix, a free Mind Mapping Software on the App Store, can accomodate basic mind mapping (which I don't care about) and has the ability to 'mind map your app' which I find quite useful. https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/mindix/id595081194?mt=12 It accommodates both images and text, so you can be pretty versatile with your app ideas. Here is a rather mundane image of an app that I'm working with, and the way I used Mindix to outline it... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/115208762/Mindix.png Just thought it might help some. I know it's not for everyone, but hey, it's free. Cheers! -- Smug

That is a much better way to do mock ups. Its too easy to get bogged down in the details when using tools like ppt or keynote.

I've been using the mind mapping technique for nearly 20 years. There are several packages out there that are good. I use to use Mindjet's Mindmanager (http://www.mindjet.com/) for years and just switched to XMind (http://www.xmind.net/). Try them to see which one works for you. Thanks. David
