Adding new plugin to old app

I am working on an app that i began in January and since then i have purchased a whole heap of new plugins but they do not work in my app. Im thinking because its an older app and i downloaded the source code before i downloaded the plugins. How do i get them in?

No but i wanted to make sure it will work before i do that. Also that means i will have to re-setup all the certificates and stuff from Apple and the profiles, Bloody headache!!!

Umm, it shouldn't be that bad. You'll have to retitle the bundleID of the app so it matches the old one. You'll have to specify the provisioning certificates (which, if your bundleID matches, is no biggie) And then start redoing any 'specific' code. If you've already created provisioning certificates for the old app, just match the new app's bundle ID and you don't need another provisioning cert. It's really not that hard. Give it a shot :) Cheers! -- Smug

Yep - the only reason this should be a headache is if you have a lot of custom code modifications you've made. If that is the case, I would recommend downloading the source code to a separate folder and just copying in the plugin folders that you haven't modified. That should cut the work down considerably.

Thanks guys. Not much customization apart from auto refresh, locked orientation and something else rather but cant remember till i run it. I do have one question though. If i do download the source code, will my current Xcode file be overwritten or do i change my app name before re-downloading? Thanks again and i will give it a go.

Well, don't put them in the same directory, that's for sure ;) Basically the BT Package will appear pretty much the same as the old one did... it will download into your default download directory (for me and many mac users, 'download'). It'll have that same mile-long filename with the appId appended to it. So, when you unzip the package, just make sure it's in a different directory, or you named your original directory xxxx_old, or whatever it takes to ensure that the same 'ROOT' directories are not named the same thing. Otherwise, you should be ok. Just don't overwrite anything unless you 'mean' to; they're all pretty much the same names within the packages. Cheers! -- Smug Since you're on iOS you're on a mac. Just before I 'restart' a project, I'll right-click my existing project directory and 'archive' it, which basically makes a zip file of your directory. I then append it with a date and throw it into another directory for safekeeping, so if I make a mistake, I can find an original again if need be.

Dude, I wish I could. Apple wants things to be pretty, cool, and functional. Unfortunately, the range of opinions within the ranks of the reviewing staff still astounds me and I have no guidance to provide. I'd ask the folks that have more than 3 or 4 apps in the store; they must know something... :) Cheers! -- Smug
