Android Studio

So, has anyone tried using the new Android Studio?

yep - I've started to use it. I like it better than Eclipse personally. Though I haven't tried to compile yet.

I've tried to use it...not liking it so far. Eclipse seems far easier, and I simply cannot get my app to compile.

Have cast a look at it and I see no reason to change. Once I set up the parameters for the app in Eclipse and do not introduce new versions of the app via downloading the source code from the BT server, I forget about Eclipse. It simply is not getting in the way any more. For now, it is Eclipse for me.

It's taken me 2 years to get comfortable with eclipse, I don't yet have the motivation or enthusiasm to learn a new environment :(

I think Android Studio will be the better program in the long run, assuming Google keeps up with it. Already it has some features that are much better than Eclipse, such as a much improved autocomplete (something XCode does really well IMO).

When starting the emulator android studio it opens correctly in portrait mode. emulator opens in portrait mode but the application opens in landscape mode inside the emulator. I looked at the manifest not seeing it. Please see this string post for screen shot https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=2257F449CCDBBDA66128BD8&tid=2257F449CCDBBDA66128BD8 <activity android:name="BT_activity_root" android:label="@string/app_name" android:configChanges="keyboardHidden|orientation" android:excludeFromRecents="false" android:noHistory="true"> any thoughts
