Food diary- button for adding items to list

Hello all I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! I am working on a project and I am looking for a way to create a food diary where I can press a button to add the title of that item to a list. In the myfitnesspal app on the appstore they have this feature even with the date on top of the screen. I would like to see what type of ideas you guys might have. I thought of a task list for this but then I would not have the date at the top of the screen. I think I just need some ideas or time to figure this out. If you have any ideas please post something. In myfitnesspal I think this feature is a form that send the info to another screen with in the app. Im not 100% on this.

This should be really easy. Need to have your tableview/listview items saved on the device. Pressing the button would read the file, append it, and resave. It would then refresh the table. If want to be fancy, have the screen build the list from both the file on the device and the screendata from the control panel.

Can be either. You'll have to use code either way though.
