Added icon

I have added an Icon to my first app. I also put the jpeg into the images file in Xcode. Pressed build and then refreshed the simulator but the logo image is not changed and has not been added to the Xcode images for iPhone or iPad. Is there something I have missed?

Well, the 'app' icon doesn't live in your images directory. It lives in the 'BT_Art' directory. It is named 'icon_57' for the 57 x 57 pixel icon, and 'icon_size' for the others (72,114,144). If you mean icons within your app, if you're not 'adding' them correctly, it could be an issue https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Adding_Files_To_A_Project_v1.0.pdf Otherwise, try a 'clean' (menu: product > clean) and try it again. If that doesn't work, delete the app off your simulator or device and give it one more shot... Cheers! -- Smug

Hi Smug At my first attempt when my Xcode was in a mess (deleted and reloaded now and seems ok) I actually loaded the main Icon in the control panel as a jpeg and it worked fine. I have just added the 4 dimension sizes to the BT_Artdirectory and cleaned and reloaded. I also reloaded the image in the Icon setting as a 72 x 72.png and I even deleted the ZZ icons from the directory. Still not showing on simulator. The build was successful - very odd

Usually what I'll do is close Xcode, and copy *over* the default icons. Of course, my icons are named the same as the BT defaults. I keep them in the BT_Art directory. Then upon relaunching Xcode all the icons are in place. I do the same thing with the launch images as well. If it's any easier for you, you can 'right click' on the icon (in your xcode summary) and 'choose file' and select the icon you wish to use. Same procedure for launch images as well. Cheers! -- Smug

Hi Smug. I have discovered in the past week, or so, that if I read a message (from anyone here) that I usually try too hard to fix the problem with a little too much enthusiasm :) For instance in your first reply earlier I completely missed your second line - delete icon from simulator. So I read the messages again a couple of times and then it sank in. So I deleted the icon and reloaded and, of course, it worked. Thank you. Richard
