Hello! I am an Educator that just joined!

I have just joined Buzztouch and am very excited about the possibilities for education. I have offered a ton of professional development sessions in literacy instruction for teachers and principals. I am thinking of creating apps for teachers that they can reference when teaching literacy (such as being able to bring up a developmental progression of phonemic awareness skills with information that shows how to teach the skill the students need. I have a couple of questions: 1. Has anyone included a Power Point animation within an app? There are some cool things I have done to help teachers with Power Point. What I have observed so far is that a power point goes into an app as a copy of the slides. Can you put in animations? 2. Has anyone included video clips into an app? What is the process to get it to work? I look forward to learning from those who are ahead of me on this track! The Reading Doc

Welcome! Sounds like a neat idea for an app! I haven't tried PowerPoint animations yet, so I'm not sure how that might work. But video clips are easy. Just use the AT53 Video plugin and you should be all set. Good luck and keep asking questions! :)

I would convert the Slideshow into a video. There are a lot of educators on Buzztouch. You may want to think about including some fun quizzes to reinforce the learning objectives. There are a host of options for menus which your users will use to navigate the app materials.

Welcome to buzztouch, @TheReadingDoc! With respect to the PowerPoint stuff, I haven't see animations work in an app yet. I like Susan's idea of converting to a video. Also keep in mind that if you do the app for Android, it will require a "helper" app to open any PowerPoints...iOS handles this natively. A video would be a great way to address that problem. Can't wait to see what you come up with! buzztouch is a super amazing platform for educators without a doubt! Holler if you need anything! Mark
