How to link app in Buzztouch.com to my Selfhost

Hi, Pls forgive me for stupid questions, I very new and just paid for the member... My very first question is: I realize that may be I just do something wrong when I pay for Hostgator to setup my Selfhost since after paying for buzztouch member, I recognize that it could include free host too (?) it it true ? Is that my host buying is totally a waste ? Feel that being a big fool here :( And my second question is after following all Selfhost installing steps. It looks ready now. So I want to have my app created before in buzztouch.com to my selfhost, is there a way to link it up or transfer it ? Really dont know how to do it. The reason I do all that selfhost, and member stuff is because I want to use an enhanced version of menu bar for my app. Thank you for being patient with my long questions!

Hi and welcome to BT buddy and good job on becoming a member, you'll get a lot more out of Buzztouch that way. Self hosting is indeed the way to go, you have made a good choice. You can refresh yourself on the benefits here: https://www.buzztouch.com/pricing/ and here: https://www.buzztouch.com/BT-server/ Self hosting gives you the freedom to do what ever you like, custom code, give logins to clients enabling them to update apps, skin your server with your company logo and so much more. As for transferring over the app there really isn't an easy way to do that. Rebuilding on self hosted is the way to go. If any other questions come to mind don't hesitate to shout, someone will jump right in to help. Enjoy your new toy!

Buying hosting with HostGator or any other respectable hosting company is not a waste of time and money. Actually, that is the only way to go as you can then set up the self hosted version of BuzzTouch. Yes, you can develop up to three apps on Buzztouch.com, but that option exists only to "try before you buy". Becoming a paid memeber and self hosting is the real deal, provided you envision making more than three apps within a year. If you have already set the self hosted version up, just continue and develop your first app right from there. If you first try to use buzztouch.com, you will later run into difficulties when you try to transfer it to the self hosted version.

Thank you two for helpful answers! So one good news and one bad news for me: Buying a host is right, transferring app is not possible (?) If building app from the beginning, not too long I guess, but the interface in the self-host is not so similar to the one I used to build my app on buzztouch.com, do you think so too? Is there anyway to make them exactly the same interface (I mean the structure of the links, functions, not about the images, logos), then I can easy to recognize and do the same steps to build my app from there.

I try to dowload plugin from buzztouch.com to my self-host but it took like forever for only the simple menu plugin. I m quite sure that I put my account for buzztouch.com right in the config.php (that's why it can show all the plugin when I hit install in my self-host). So is there a link to download all these simple basic plugin, then I can use FileZilla to upload them to my self-host ? Looking forward to your help !!!

Some one have any idea ? Another thing I find out is, even when I uploaded new logo.png to my self-host at .../buzztouch/images the old buzztouch logo still there. How to customize your self-host server, anyone have a suggestion? Thanks a lot !

Try splitting up your questions into different posts. For now, I only have experience with an older version of the self-hosted software. I don't want to send you down a wrong path. -- Niraj
