Remove Background Text in Weather App

Anyone know how to do this easily? When the screen opens, the default info for Sacramento is displayed which I think is not cool...if the weather displayed right away this wouldn't be an issue. Thanks

Hi Steve, As with any plugin that has place holder text if it's an issue. Search for sacramento in the .m file and replace it with loading.. It takes a second to pull the json from the external server

@kittsy...I didn't find Sacramento in either the .m or .h files for the plugin. Also looked in BT_config. Which file were you thinking? Plus, it's more than just "Sacramento", like temp, etc. I believe there must be a setting somewhere to display a blank screen before the API call to get weather for your location. Cheers

Hey Steve. Yes, totally figured it out. Ended up being pretty easy. You'll need to replace the xib files in the jce_weather directory of your app. (Make a backup of that directory first incase this doesn't work). I've only tested it within one app in xcode, but worked flawlessly. Don't have time for extensive testing until next week. The three files are: jce_screen_weather.xib [email protected] jce_screen_weather~ipad.xib Overwrite them with the files in this archive: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/76141353/WeatherXIBs.zip You should be good to go. All I did was select all of the labels in the XIBs that we don't want to show while loading and I changed their color from "Dark Gray Color" to "Clear Color". Let me know if you have any problems and next week I can test and send the full plugin.

Great. I'll be updating the plugin in the next week or so, but at least we've got a work around.

@MGoBlue. I guess your changes to clear the background for the weather plugin hasn't been implemented into the plugin yet? I downloaded the source again today (wanted to get rid of all the excess plugins via the new download source method) and now the problem is back. Is it safe to copy these same xib files back and overwrite the existing files? Thanks

OK, I've gone ahead and copied these xib files back and it looks fine...hopefully your plugin gets updated in the core plugins soon :-)
