Push notifications

The guide made by Niraj Shah is VERY good but the only thing is I dont see the iOs Production Or Development devices option in my push control panel. Ive followed the guide to the tee but cant get the message to show up. I have "Live or Design" device but i assume thats tied to the config.txt

It's also tied to debug / distribution

Niraj I think the guide needs an update as the way you set up certificates and such has changed in the developer zone. It's not hard to figure out but may seriously confuse others.

I have the same problems with making live BT push work on IOS. OK on dev mode, not live. http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=7FB1EEB0862E51460C6E6DD I have a suspicion the there is an external problem, but I can't prove it. Alan

There's a lot that can be confusing with push, to be sure. A couple of things I've found to be easy to overlook: 1) make sure your server's ports are opened for outgoing. Some hosting providers don't allow this (godaddy), and others you have to explicitly request them to be opened (hostgator). 2). Make sure you have both certificate entries highlighted in Keychain Assistant when exporting to a pem file. The right-click/context menu should say 'export 2 items...'.

I was really interested in getting push notifications in my latest app, but sort of nervous about trying it now :(
