Create an application for physical mail

Hello, we created an application to share our physical mail, but we would like to know if it is possible to allow many users to share this application ? Thank you in advance.

Froispie - welcome! I'm not sure I understand your question. What do you mean by 'share our physical mail'? And what would be needed for multiple users?

Sorry for not being clear, I will rephrase my question: we want to create an app which notifies us when physical mail arrives at a mailbox. We already have a sensor for detecting mail but dont know how to share the app with many users such as family or roommates who use same mailbox.

Hi @Froispie, hope you don't mind my humour. The answer to your question is different for Android or Apple apps. Which one are you asking about?

With Apple, you can either distribute your app in several ways - this article seems to describe it pretty well http://www.foraker.com/ios-app-distribution-options/

This one helps when you are ready to distribute your app to the world through the Apple App Store http://www.idev101.com/ -- Niraj

Publish the app in "ad-hoc" mode. Search the web on how to do it. http://samwize.com/2012/11/14/ios-adhoc-distribution-with-the-new-xcode/ Then you can load the app onto the Devices that have been registered with your Apple Developer account (a max of 100 devices) http://www.innerfence.com/howto/install-iphone-application-ad-hoc-distribution Tell us how you got a sensor to detect mail and notify you. Tht is cool! -- Niraj

First, you have to register your Devices and then generate an IPA file: http://help.testflightapp.com/customer/portal/articles/494413 Then you can cable each Device to your Mc to install the app via iTunes or the iPhone Configuration Utility. Alternatively, you can use this server tool on your Mac to let your housemates download the app directly onto their registered Devices via WiFi. Not sure if this will still work, the files are over a year old. Give it a try! :-) http://maniacdev.com/2012/11/open-source-tool-for-easily-distributing-ios-test-builds-over-your-local-network http://www.rakutec.com/adhoc/app/AirTest.dmg https://github.com/rjyo/Air-Test -- Niraj
