Has anyone here designed an app for a law firm?

I have been approached by a law firm about creating an app for them. There are a few lawyers in town that have an app, and these guys want one. What they'd like are: 1. Things to do when you're in an auto accident (no problem) 2. Flashlight (no proble) 3. Tap to call 911 and/or ambulance (I'll have to just put one local ambulance service's number, but no real problem) 4. Map to nearest hospital (maybe a problem, but I've seen it in other apps so I know it can be done) 5. Flashlight (no problem) 6. About their firm and specialties I think I can do most of these, but I'm just wondering if it will be accepted by Apple. I can throw in an "accident preparedness quiz" or something to make better use of the iOS stuff. But, has anybody created an app for a law firm that wouldn't mind talking to me to give me some pointers?

There are many dozens of "law firm" apps in the Apple store. There is no reason that there would be a problem. The only thing that I would always stay away from is offering legal advice within the app. Quoting law is different than advice.

Putting in anything but 911 would be a mistake I think. 911 in a cell triggers some geolocation processes not just in the phone, but at the cell towers and the PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point). Imagine someone with the app gets their bell rung after running off the road and they use your phone to call that pre-selected ambulance number, only it's a thousand miles from where they are.... Just my 2 cents... Tim Wolf Paramedic Owner of Rockwall County EMS

Good call!! The lawyer wanted the number to an ambulance in it because they want it very local, but now I know how to explain to them why they don't want that

Also keep in mind that 911 centers don't like accidental calls, as it prevents other people from getting through. I'd hate to accidentally hit the wrong button in my app and crank call 911!

If you are looking for a Design Template to emulate and if you are looking for Content & Navigation suggestions, take a look at App Design Vault's template for Small Businesses. http://www.AppDesignVault.com/portfolio/bizapp To learn how the fantastic Tope Abayomi did the actual implementation, check-out the three-part series: http://mobile.tutsplus.com/series/design-build-a-small-business-app/ With that as a "template", you can achieve the same results with the built-in capabilities of BuzzTouch via the various plugins.
