(Xcode) link and connect two storyboards

For those who want to connect multiple storyboards within Xcode. "A key practice of storyboards is to break them down into natural, reusable modules. The downfall to this decomposition is when we need to transition from one storyboard to another. Storyboards were supposed to save us from the tedious transition code, but decomposition brings some of it back. Fortunately, there is a way to remove this pain." http://robsprogramknowledge.blogspot.de/2012/06/linking-storyboard.html Also, read the insightful comments. :-) -- Niraj

Good find, Niraj! I haven't done much with storyboards, but if I ever do, this will for sure come in handy.

Niraj, Have you gotten storyboards to work in BT/Xcode yet? I have no issue with xib files, but no storyboards. Cheers! -- Smug

Smug - what has gone wrong? You should be able to load a storyboard through code like so: UIStoryboard *sb = [UIStoryboard storyboardWithName:@"MainStoryboard" bundle:nil]; UIViewController *vc = [sb instantiateViewControllerWithIdentifier:@"myViewController"]; vc.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleFlipHorizontal; [self presentViewController:vc animated:YES completion:NULL];

Hi Chris! I tried that, I got the 'hint' from a post kittsy did a while back, but it's not working for me. I must be leaving out something simple, I guess. Here are the basics: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/115208762/BTSB.pdf It keeps halting on me, and all I get is 'lldb' at the bottom of my logging... Any guidance? Cheers! -- Smug

You know I just retried this, with my storyboard named 'Storyboard' and it seems to work. Hmmm.... Cheers! -- Smug

Great! Sorry for not responding earlier - I'm in the middle of unpacking at my new home still. The lidb error is likely due to Xcode trying to access an object that is no longer in memory.

No worries! I'd be stoked over the new place too! I'm not sure what I did (or didn't) do. But I wiped and restarted from scratch, and everything went well. Regardless, it must have been me, lol! Cheers! -- Smug
