None of my apps work anymore in Xcode?

Getting a bunch of weird errors in a ton of plugins. 1. I checked to make sure those plugins were up to date. 2. I restarted xcode, the mac, cleaned the project numerous times. 2. I deleted and downloaded an entire new project. same error. 4. Older projects still work fine. It happens to any newly downloaded. Error screenshot of one plugin that fails: http://s9.postimg.org/o7gia2qlb/errors.png Using: Xcode 4.6.2, iOS SDK 6.1 Client needs an screenshot of the working app by tomorrow.. sweating here, worst time for my environment to break down! ANY HELP would be appreciated - THANK YOU! David

Looks like your config.txt might be jacked up. Check it in jsonlint.

What the? Not sure what's going on here. Super strange. I just downloaded a project from my BT hosted control panel, did the normal open, clean, build, etc. 1) BT Core source builds, cleans, builds again with no errors. 2) Added plugins folder by dragging into project. Same thing...all good. Builds, cleans, builds again without any trouble. 3) Launched in sim, same thing...all good. I'm running Xcode v4.6.1, not sure if this matters but figured I'de post it anyway. Is there anything you can think of that changed on your machine? You've probably pulled your hair out trying to think of what could be causing this, couldn't hurt to ask. Stumped at this point but happy to continue until you get this resolved. I know you've done this a thousand times but not sure what to add?

hmm - that is strange. Hard to tell from your screenshot though. Doesn't look like a JSON issue.

Hmmm...looking at your error image... WB_screen_menuImage folder. I don't have this plugin in my download. The same plugin is in a folder named menu_with_image. I think that's the same plugin. Not totally sure of this but... Start by deleting this plugin from the Xcode project. The entire group. It looks like a folder in Xcode (Xcode calls it a group). Right click, remove this from Xcode. Just remove the reference when it prompts for confirmation. Clean > Build...anything change?

@David - that's the .m file he's showing us, not the folder. The plugin above it is certainly custom though.

Yup, for sure. The errors / warning panel on the left shows all sorts of issues with this class file. It's .h and .m are related and look "old." Look at the messages on the left, it looks like this plugin is using some outdated methods, etc.

yeah, I was thinking the same - strange if he just downloaded a fresh copy, though. But even still, shouldn't be getting errors about missing @end statements.

Hi guys, you rock thanks for responding so fast. You're right, most of my hair is on the desk beside me. JSON validated perfectly. @David, thanks for trying to replicate the issue, I have absolutley NO IDEA. Like you said I've done this a million times, and usually I can debug or fix anything that comes my way, but for the life of me this is making no sense to me. @David, that's the FIRST thing I tried when this happened, no matter what, other plugins pull other errors. I just did it again, and I received a "apple llvm compiler 4.2" error, which pulls up multiple reasons in google. ARGH! The client needs a design by tomorrow, they are having thier last meeting of the year so I NEED to solve this! So many responses so fast, thank you so much guys, I will buy you all pizza after this is over - THANK YOU. @Chris emailed package. Will report as I try more things.. David

These plugins have simply been renamed, they are (or should) be the most updated plugins. They have never given me problems before, and my older projects from this control panel work perfectly - only the new ones I download from today. @David now that you mentioned it, I DID update my xcode recently? but it worked fine with a different self hosted server, so not sure what the difference is now. Trying to verify some other ideas.. David

okay this is really strange David. There's definitely something wrong with your download. Noticed some methods that have duplicate property calls, like so: [self.descriptions addObject:[BT_strings getJsonPropertyValue:thisMenuItem.jsonVars nameOfProperty nameOfProperty:@"titleText" defaultValue defaultValue:@""]]; (notice the dual nameOfProperty and defaultValue) Also, noticed the menuImage plugin is missing a closing } on the viewDidLoad method. Also, noticed you have really old code on the plugins - calling method names before the updated XCode ... weird thing is that the underlying methods are updated for the proper arguments.

was able to get it to build successfully (although it will crash due to the old code), but making the following changes: 1) In calculator.m file: replaced in viewWillAppear: YOURAPPNAME_appDelegate *appDelegate = (YOURAPPNAME_appDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; with: sgaammerman_appDelegate *appDelegate = (sgaammerman_appDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; 2) In Buzz_carousel.m file: replaced in parseScreenData: [self.descriptions addObject:[BT_strings getJsonPropertyValue:thisMenuItem.jsonVars nameOfProperty nameOfProperty:@"titleText" defaultValue defaultValue:@""]]; with: [self.descriptions addObject:[BT_strings getJsonPropertyValue:thisMenuItem.jsonVars nameOfProperty:@"titleText" defaultValue:@""]]; 3) In WB_screen_menuImage.m file: Added a "}" at end of viewDidLoad

double check that your plugins are all up to date on your self-hosted.

It's looking like something crazy is going on with the plugins on the self-hosted server. I'll bet MrDavid has all of these available in one giant directory - on his local computer - which is good. It's good because they should be easy to updated. Right? Upadte the plugin's, I'll be it solves the entire issue.

Double checking but forsure the versions for menu with image and buzz carousel lined up to be exactly the same as the market. I remember updating them all when BT had that huge core code change. Calculator always gave me trouble after the core change, I always remove it from my project so that has nothing to do with the other two plugins. So it built successfully after those two were fixed? AWESOME! I will do that. But note: I haven't touched those 2 plugins, no idea why those errors are occuring, I literally sent you a fresh copy of the app without unzipping, and I had not touched those plugin folders either on FTP. Let me look more into it and attempt to fix it with your post. Thank you so much. David

Agree with @David (Book) - if you have working copies from another project, drag those in to this one and fix the appDelegate references. That should at least get you working on this project. Looking forward, you may need to delete the offending plugins from your self-hosted server and then re-download them from buzztouch.com.

I'm going to do this now, I just have no idea why they broke. I checked version numbers, and they are EXACTLY the same as on the market. I'm going to delete, refresh, and re-install new copies as suggested. I will get back with results ASAP. @David, I think you know me too well... plugins folder on desktop, 82 plugin folders there.. LOL. Be right back... cheers! David

Chris, Can you do me a favor? Please download the self hosted version of menu with image for me and confirm that the bracket you told me to add is missing from it? David

just downloaded a fresh copy of source code from my self-hosted, copied the menuImage plugin folder into your project, and had no problems. But, you also have some mods to your menuImage plugin that I don't have on mine.

Yes - I'm talking about if you could download the self hosted version from buzztouch.com, open up the zip, and check the .m file, the bracket you're talking about is missing from there too? How can that be? http://www.buzztouch.com/plugins/selfhosted.php?pid=F018606BDA6027B90A3ED49 Yes menu with image was modded, although, you know better than me that it worked before? Maybe the mods are breaking with the new xcode? I'm going to look at the zip you sent me of carousel modded and see if those duplicates are there... if they are, it would explain a lot, meaning the new xcode is yelling at the mods. SIGH I should have mentioned this earlier, it did not connect in my brain. Sorry about that guys. David

pretty sure there's no issue with the buzztouch.com files. I don't remember - the mods I made for you on those 4 plugins a while back, if they were after the XCode change or not. I know originally they were before, but I thought the latest update I sent you was after the change. Maybe not though. That would explain a lot. Have you not built any projects since then, though?

Confirmed, the modded plugins you sent me a while back are the same errors you found above. Must be that the modded plugins were screamed at by the new xcode, but the errors were not screamed at by the older xcode so we thought all was OK. Sorry about that again everyone, totally my mistake for forgetting that that may have been the issue. I probably could have debugged this myself without taking everyones time. @Chris, I have made many projects, but that was on the old xcode, the issue is your mods broke on the new xcode when I upgraded a few days ago. But you essentially "updated" the mods for me here. I have fixed the code in the server files and the project seems to work again! again THANK YOU so much for everyone just jumping in and offering so much support - you guys remind me every day how lucky I am to be here. Cheers! David

2:57AM, I managed to finish the app and design and I sent it over to my client for tomorrow. Close call, thanks again and again and again. I have glued my hair back and all is good in the world again. As promised: @Chris, Pizza money has been sent. @David, you're up to two pizzas now, somehow I will get those to you... I'll be in California with Sam in 2 months! Cheers!, David. p.s. Wolf, I haven't forgotten you either, owe you a slice! I'll be in Texas to meet a good friend of mine soon, let's meetup if you're interested :) Cheers mate!
