120,000,000 views a new record!

Wowza...We've been battling some crazy database volume over the last few days. It's not caused any trouble but we've taken some precautionary measures that may affect you over the next few days. Subject line: We have a new record for app volume! One fellow BT'er has an app that has accumulated more than 120,000,000 (120 million) views in the last few weeks. This is awesome and we're super stoked about it. We have reached out to the developer to make sure he / she's OK with us bragging about them before we post any details about what app is absolutely OWNING in the download department. Cool stuff. We hope to make this public but will only do so with the app owners blessing. App Usage Map: We are in the process of moving some ridiculously large data-sets around and as such your App Usage Map data will not update over the next day or so. This means no new bubbles will appear on your map (in the control panel). We mentioned a few weeks ago that App Usage Map data would be limited to the previous 30 days worth of data. We also mentioned providing a stats download option so you could download a .txt file containing app usage data. The work we're doing over the next day or two is related to these changes and feature additions. The Stats Download option will not be available to GUESTS, it's a Members Only sorta thing :-) Guests will still have Usage Map data but only for the preceding 30 days. I love this stuff! d.

I mean really, that's nuts...that's more views than all of my apps combined over the course of the last year multiplied many times. I can only imagine this mystery app is somewhere in the top 200 Free

Amazing! Lots of reasons app developers want to keep their success stories non-public, myself included. There can be an awesome amount of sharing and learning from it, but it can also drag down that developer with loads of support emails, requests for work, questions, and then good people like @Alex find that their app gets copied/stolen - worst nightmare. As awesome as it would be for them to come out and tell us what app made it, keep in mind to understand the reasoning if they decide not to share the details.. Of course... if @David asks, that's one man you just can't say no too! LOL! Congratulations to this awesome bt developer, I'm sure it wasn't luck :) David https://buzztouchmods.com

@MrDavid. Can't dispute the reasons for staying silent. But, personally, I find openness is fine. It's like having a best selling book. People can try to emulate, but will never completely replicate. In fact, someone might come up with a better way to implement something, e.g. Google (took over from Yahoo and others). I think it's usually about the content and implementation, not copying ideas. There are lots of ideas floating around, and lots of apps trying to implement the same idea; how many social apps are there now? Better implementations float to the top. Besides, competition is good. Inspiration and learning from the success of others is also good, e.g. I enjoy listening to the entrepreneurs on the BuzzCast podcast, as well as the "Entrepreneur on Fire" podcast. To the developer who generated this traffic: Live Long and Prosper (until I catch up LOL). Cheers

@BuzzingSteve totally get what you mean! The "copying ideas" was a very small part of my own personal decision of not going public with any of my apps or business - it's more about the support, questions, requests, emails, messages, etc that would be my main concern. Cheers again to the developer! David https://buzztouchmods.com

Haha yeah I actually read Alex's recent thread and proceeded to delete all of apps from the published page - whoever this is, I wouldn't blame them at all for keeping it a secret...I probably would

Nevertheless, I would like to showcase my apps once they are created not publicly, but to a specific audience such as the buzztouch community. I think it'll benefit everyone in the long run. But then again, I don't have 120 x 10^6 views on my apps either!!!
