a question about Scringo push notifications

I just made the unfortunate discovery that my favorite push sdk, Appoxee, is making the move from free to paid - I have it in all of my apps with about 750,000 registered for push, and now I find out it will probably cost me a minimum of $750 a month to keep using it :( The thing I love about appoxee is that it features an in-app inbox that can contain a link. So when I send out push, the push opens the inbox and then opens the link. This has been extremely useful for promoting new apps and notifying users about updates. Do Scringo push notifications have any similar functionality? In other words, would I be able to send a push via Scringo that opens up a link within the app when tapped?

Yes and yes.. I love scringo and you can do that and more.., I was with appoxee way in the beginning and the features that scringo is bringing to the table is awesome. And for your type of app with 1d it's nice to use one system for all. Scringo push for me worked flawlessly and the ads pulled in some nice change last month too

I struggle to understand what Scringo is all about, but it sounds like it is very powerful. Are there any example apps out there I could play with that demonstrate what it can do?. Alan

I second what @AlanMac says. I've checked out the Scringo website, and the features look awesome, but didn't really see an example app. It would be nice to see what is possible with it. I guess once we get our hands on the plugin, the sky is the limit based on our creativity :-) I already signed up for Scringo and looked around the Scringo dashboard, but was trying to figure out how the monetization works. Is that simply by adding your own affiliate code/links somewhere inside the Scringo code/plugin? Looking forward to the Scringo plugin. Any idea when it will be available? Thanks to David for all his hard work! Steve

I've not played much with any push notifications (apple/BT/scringo), not really too sure of the pro's/con's tbh. Absentia - I set my scringo up so when someone buys the 'disable ads' option, it posts it to the wall :-) might encourage others once out of sandbox and in the wild! I'm not clever enough to make the scringo post link to the IAP though. I'm hoping scringo will become a lot more social in future, allowing users to make their own wall comments etc.

One thing I liked about Appoxee is that it was super fast with the notifications - I'm currently testing out Scringo notifications...I sent one test notification to my device 5 minutes ago and I'm still not seeing anything. Still, speed alone isn't worth the hefty price that Appoxee is asking @ AlanMac/BuzzingSteve - If you want to see Scringo in action, you can check out my app "Fan Club - One Direction Edition". You can see in that app some of the ways it can be integrated - To name a couple, it posts activity feeds when users take the quiz, and you can "like" pictures in the image gallery with the Scringo like button (this also posts to the activity feed). Unfortunately, the "like" button is one of many features that can be unlocked in the $0.99 Pro Upgrade, so you may not be able to see that one in action. @ BuzzingSteve - no code is required to show the Scringo ads. Just find the ad management section of your Scringo dashboard and select "Enabled". Scringo will automatically show their own ads. You can customize the placement of the ads and control how often it appears, but as far as I can tell, you can't actually control what kind of ads are showing @ Trouty - cool idea...I only have it post when the purchase is made, but having it post every time the button is tapped might draw a lot more attention that way. Did you know that Scringo has a blog feature? The blog feature can easily double as chatrooms - the only feature missing is a sort of "jump to bottom" button. It kind of sucks to have a chatroom that starts you at the top of the conversation every time

@Absentia. Installed the "Fan Club Pro - One Diirection Edition", looks like it was free? :-) Nice use of the Scringo features. Thanks for sharing! And in terms of ads, does Scringo at least tell you what type so of ads they implement? I'm thinking they need to be careful not to violate any Apple App Store guidelines, e.g. no adult ads. Cheers

I signed in Appoxee and I still see in prices/plan that I am in full package...Till now I don't have any apps in there...Will I have to pay to make it work?

It's free up to 250,000 registered devices - after that it's $500 per month plus $0.001 for every new device

Overall..not per app It's really a ridiculous pricing model - Imagine if you had 10 million registered devices...that would be about $120,000 a year for Appoxee. I've decide to go with Pushwoosh - they have exactly the features I'm looking for and they allow 8 Million devices for about $100 a month

@Absentia: does Pushwoosh allow or have any framework for a notification inbox? I cannot see anything about such a feature on their website.
