Can't figure out Share via email/sms plugins

I'd like to use the Share this app via email and Share this app via SMS. (iOS) I have the plugins added and the text, but I still can't figure out what to include to link to the itunes or app store. I'm in the Apple Development site now, have all the icons, etc loaded and now on the iTunes Connect page with App Information, and Versions. is there something i can get here to add to the plugins? Surely it's fairly simple because i can't seem to find any step-by-step instructions to show how it's done. Thanks.

Miguel is on the money. It'll be something like: https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/id00000000?mt=8 Cheers! -- Smug

I'm not sure what you mean. I don't have a link yet. I'm unsure about uploading the xcode to itunes until I have the proper info inserted into the Share via email or SMS plugin. But I don't know if I can get the info before I upload xcode to itunes.

Hi @shenry, I think those plugins are not explicitly for sharing the app code, they are just to share a message, (about the app or anything else) - ie they are used to publicise. At least that is how I use them. If you want to include a url to your app in the app store, maybe you could update the content after the app is published. Alan

Maybe I misunderstood the plugin. i was thinking a user could sort of forward a message to someone and it would automatically include a link to itunes so they could download the app.

This is the link for one of my apps https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/gp-motorsport-quips-quotes/id497967317?mt=8 You can get the url when the app is published.

@AnanMac. Thanks. I was wondering how to add a link to the plugin before the app was published. But it looks like you're saying to publish the app first, then go back and add the info into the plugin, then republish?

Looking at the plugin a little more, Alan Mac is closer to the mark; it's just a message. But you can add your itunes link to it once you get one. For the time being, just add a message or something, and you can alter the message once the app is approved and in the app store. It's not specifically a 'share this app' plugin, but you can link it later to be one. Sorry if I accelerated any confusion. (the forum tends to 'double post' if a user creates an entry, submits it, and then refreshes the page. Not sure why; it just does) Cheers! -- Smug

Yep @shenry, that will work. You don't need to republish the app to iTunes a second time, just update the plugin content over the air from your buzztouch control panel and the app will get the refeshed content.

You can get a link to the App Store before you publish the app. As soon as you create an app in iTunes connect, you get a link to the App Store. But it will only be active when the app is approved. In iTunes connect, in your app, top right corner, you got iTunes link. Cheers Miguel

Yes good call Miguel. That's what I did. You can get your link before the review process, just as you create the app (or maybe when you get to ready for binary upload). But you do get it. Even if it's rejected n times as long as you don't delete the app from itunes to create a new one!

This is great info! I was wanting to add the Share sms plugin to my app and wasn't sure of the setup details. Thanks for asking your question @shenry.

I went through the android process but haven't been able to confirm they provide such a link or not before uploading the apk. Share if you know.
