Apps Won't Work on 1st Gen iPad!

I have spent the last few days trying to install my app on my 1st Gen iPad, but it won't install. If I use iPad 6.1 Simulator it works fine, but if I use iPad 5.1 Simulator, it won't work or install. How do I get my apps to work on 1st Gen iPads?

Hi Dragon007, You've probably checked this but what is the "Deployment target" of your build? Have you set it to 4.3?

Hey buddy.. It works just fine, I'm using an 1st gen iPad and all of my apps work fine. check here: https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=71E2C5B3AF9FC3167D1758A However in your case the app is crashing because the json is not formatted correctly it seems... "Error Domain=org.brautaset.JSON.ErrorDomain Code=3 \"Object value expected for key: textContent\" UserInfo=0xaad9fa0 {NSUnderlyingError=0xaad9e60 \"Unescaped control character '0xa'\", You have some type of character issue: 2013-05-02 12:43:39.324 pousadadeestoi[11729:18503] BT_application: validateApplicationData: ERROR: There was a problem parsing some configuration data. Please make sure that it is well-formed. Run it through: jsonlint.com and you'll find where your bad characters are.. It could be the use of quotations..

Right I have run my Json data in jsonlint.com and got no errors. Totally lost now. Keep getting a error saying: The configuration data for this application is invalid. What do I do next?

Are there any build settings I need to change to make it work?

Delete it from the simulator and try to clean and compile again

How do you mean 'Localize'? The app is for a Portugal Hotel, but I haven't changed any settings to do with Localization.

Right, I have re-downloaded the source code and that has seem to have done the trick, so I guess I have to redo all the custom codes added again. Pain! Sorry, guys, should of just done this from the beginning.

NOOOO!!! Lol it was the config that is the same error you where having with the line breaks. You needed to copy the new config data from the control panel.

Hi Kittsy done all that it made no difference. Downloading the source code, seems to have worked. Ran the Json data through jsonlint.com and it showed no errors. Downloading source again, has resolved the issues. Frustrating really, this happens from time to time with BT. Thank you for your concern though, even though I get the sense you are still laughing at me. lol!

Hi Guys just when I thought I had resolved my issues, now it won't work on iPad 6.1 Simulator. This is crazy!

Hi @Dragon007. Try looking at the installed apps in your simulator, deleting any previous copies of your app. Also try closing down xcode and reloading the project. And if that doesn't work, and I know people hate it when I suggest 'have you switched your computer off then on", but when all else fails...

Thanks Mac! Although it won't launch in the iPad 6.1 simulator, I am certain it works on iPad 6.1 OS, so I will just risk sending for publishing. What's the worse that can happen?

Remove all spaces from your json file until it is one Looooooong string. Then run it through jsonlint to make it pretty. I had issues when I formatted my own json; spaces and carriage returns will go through json lint, but will error on the app. Just in case... Cheers! -- Smug
