Greetings, all

Hello, everybody! My name is Nenad, and i'm somewhat nooby when it comes to programming. But, more importantly, when it comes to making apps for Android and iOS - i'm almost totally nooby :) And i'm here practically for only one purpose: to try and make an app which works as an incapsulated eBook reader. That means: 1. The app is an enclosed system, 2. It contains an encrypted, secured eBook within it. 3. And is flexible when it comes to displaying text. It may also be branded, prefferably, but that's secondary. So... Help, please? :)

Welcome @wiper! You might want to start with one first so either IOS or Android. Not sure what you mean by "The app is an enclosed system"? LA

Hello, LA - nice to meet you :) Let's talk Android first. "Enclosed" means that the app can read ONLY the eBook file which comes bundled with it, and serve no other purpose. Also, the eBook can be read only by the app which contains it and is protected from extracting. Can it be done?

Dobar dan Nenad, (Good day to you Nenad), everything is possible, if you spend appropriate amount of time with that. Buzztouch can provide a very good frame for your app, but any specific requirement probably need to be coded extra, either by you, or you have to hire someone. I do not think such functionality would be readily available. Definitely there exist an iPad story book plugin, which you may use to display your book on iPad. Also, you can use html plugin or many other options to show your text. But in order to encrypt your book you need to do some tweaking with the code. The good news for you is that in Buzztouch you have full access to the code and you can tweak it, or have it tweaked by someone. It is very unlikely to find similar approach with other solutions. The bad news is that any very specific functionality is usually quite hard to find. Buzztouch is using so called plugins, that are intentionally made universal to serve as many potential users as possible. Hope this helps a little better to understand the environment. I suggest to search the BT Forum about encryption, maybe you find something suitable. Cheers! Frogman

Nice to meet you @wiperr! Thank you for the explanation. I have an idea but I have not used an eBook on Android yet so I will refer this to another developer. I don't want to steer you wrong. LA
