Sample Statement of Work (SOW)

I mentioned a sample statement of work during one of the presentations in St. Louis last week. I've finally got around to uploading it. If you're doing development work for hire you can use this as a guiding document when bidding on work. Of course you can do anything you want but I've found that Simple, Honest, and Personal is the best way to go. If you understand the problem / goal, understand the client, and understand your capabilities and where your domain-expertise lies, don't be bashful. Provide a reasonable quote and always remember, lo-balling WILL NOT MAKE YOU MONEY. Bid enough. If they pass, don't worry, there are all sorts of things you can do for .50 cents an hour :-) See How To's > Sample Statement of Work

Thanks. Love the device size lingo. Very useful stuff. Those .50 p/hour jobs don't look so bad sometimes when you look at the benefit package. I think after health insurance that's about what I'm getting paid anyways....

Thank you for the document, of course, but what I really wanted to do is to also both thank and congratulate you on the "How to make money with apps" video from BuzzTouch13. If you haven't seen it yet, do so ASAP. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIRgWn4BLVk It really got me thinking!

Great! Thanks. Dusko: I’m not getting any audio for the YouTube video link above. I've tried via the Web browser and YouTube app on the iPad. Is there supposed to be audio? Thanks.

There is audio, but it seems David's mike was not turned on in the beginning. At 4:08 David is finally heard saying "So, let's talk about making money with apps..." From then on, it is ok.

Ah, I see. LOL. Might want to either cut out the beginning or make a note on the page for that video...like me, others may simply stop watching if they don't hear any audio. Cheers
