Newb

Hey guys, I am totally new at this stuff but i was hoping some nice people could point me in the right direction. I am trying to build an app for my church. We want to allow people to listen to sermons (not live) and see an event calendar. Are there any tutorials that someone could suggest. I am using a mac and right now just going to focus on an iOS app i have downloaded xcode and have started an app. I have an icon and the app opens to a menu but thats it. Obviously thats pretty much nothing. If i havent provided enough info im sorry. Please understand i am not well versed either so if you could aim this toward the lowest common denominator i would appreciate it. Tim West

Hello Tim, Welcome to buzztouch! There are TONS of things you can do with buzztouch for your church! In fact, @chris1 has built an entire business on doing just that. It really boils down to what sort of content you want to provide, which will then dictate the type of plugin you use. Then you piece those screens together in a way that allows nice navigation for your users. Finally, ensure that your content is engaging and keeps people coming back often! Sounds like you're on the right track from a technical perspective, if you've already got the app running in Xcode. I'd suggest just playing around and seeing how different content responds. Also, check out the How-To section of the website...there are tons of documents available there. Finally, check out the New User Seminar. You can find info on that here: https://www.buzztouch.com/account/events.php Don't hesitate to let us know when you hit a roadblock, or if you just want to show off what you've done! Mark

I am not seeing much on building calendars. Anyone have some hints or maybe creative ideas on how to show upcoming events? Maybe an RSS feed and it can be a list of events organized by date?

Awesome...any plugins that you know of to help me do this podcast type of thing? I want for us to easily update sermons without rewriting the program every week and making people download a new version.

Without meaning to hijack, but events calendar is exactly what I need! Especially if event can the be added into native calendar!
