Compatibility issues: Users cannot download my app from Google Play

Hi Everyone, Several people have emailed me to report that they are unable to download my app from Google Play because their device is reported as being incompatible. They all seem to be using tablets and have 4.0 running on their device. The devices they are using and link to my app are below. I have updated my Android code after David recently released the updated iTunes and Android version of the source code (Although the problem existed before such updated), haven't limited the devices that can use my app and haven't made any custom alterations. I suspect if I'm having this issue others are as well. Any ideas what's happening here? Galaxy tab 2 10.1 inch, 4.0 OS Nexus 10, 4.2.2 OS Sony S tablet (OS unknown) http://tinyurl.com/cp7tq66

Google Play shows the app as only being compatible with "some" of my devices, which is interesting. Can you post the first part of your AndroidManifest.xml file here? Or send it to me at MrkFleming at gmail dot com? I suspect something got set there that's limiting what devices it'll work on. Also...which Google API did you compile it with? API 8? Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark, Thanks. I've emailed the manifest file. I complied the most recent version of the app using Google 3.0 with an API of 11. I wonder if I"m getting these compatibility issues because I haven't yet added the Android Fix suggested by Susan to modify text position, http://tinyurl.com/d4otr3b

I would be interested in this too. If there is something in our devices that stops the app in the Play store from being visible, I'd like to know what it is and fix it.

Iaxia and I have been working on this. I'm speculating that it's due to the fact the app was compiled using API 11, which restricts install on some devices. He's going to try API 8 and see if that solves the problem. Mark

It's now showing as compatible with all my devices! Looks like the API change helped. Mark
