Joined a few weeks ago, now trying to make an app and need some help

Hi everyone! I joined a few weeks ago and I finally got around to starting my first app however I've already hit a roadblock (and I'm probably doing something really dumb). I created an app that has a tabbed layout and one tab. The tab is a home screen and it's the "menu simple" screen. That menu has an RSS feed, a custom URL page, and custom text. The problem is that when I run the simulator in Xcode, it shows my tab and then a blank screen. The RSS, custom URL and custom text pages aren't there. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi @gottalovemac! Don't worry about it, we all started one day! The most likely reason is that you haven't added your plugins to the projects. No plugins, no screens. Look back at you instructions.pdf and you will see how to move the plugins folders onto Xcode. Hope it helps. Farcat

Couldn't find the directions but got the plugin folder in on my own! Thanks Farcat! Just wondering, why wouldn't the plugin folder be automatically in the project?

Copy and paste your BT_Plugins folder from your downloaded source code into you Xcode project. Xcode will not import that folder. You have to do it manually. Hope this helps.

Yeah, when you download your project, open it and look for a pdf file inside. There is a how-to instruction sheet, telling exactly what you need to do. You are probably missing plugins in your project, those must be copied manually, that is how the cookie crumbles. It is easy, you only need to spend some time reading and trying. You will get it done, do not worry. Just read the pdf. Cheers! Frogman

Yep - Buzztouch University is a great place to start. If you still have problems after that, let us know what you're experiencing and we'll get you figured out. Buzztouch has a small learning curve but once you get through it you'll be making all kinds of apps - and have a blast doing so!
