Just Curious....

Very stupid question but im curious... whoever has published apps out there, if theyre free and you arent advertising I presume you make no money from then??? Thanks everyone

Not true - most of my apps are in this category. My clients pay me to create them for their organization.

You are right and wrong at the same time. If you make an app for yourself, and sell it for free, then yes, you wont make any money. But! Many people make apps as a business and if you do that, you are relying on the clients to get money. When developing apps for clients, they choose everything, but you can charge them incredibly high prices (£4,000 is the average price to develop one app).

Lol I get $20/mo USD for mine! But I'm also doing it in part as a ministry.

Also, making an app may be part of a long term plan. If you make a successful (free) app for a particular niche (or keyword) your exposure as a developer is priceless. If you make apps for clients my advise is to aim for monthly income instead of the big bucks upfront. Farcat
