self hosted php error

I haven't dug into the php to see how important this issue might be, but thought I'd point it out. When I load my self-hosted control panel, the welcome page showing that I am logged in has the following error: Oops, a PHP error was trapped.File: Unknown Line: 0 Message: Directive 'magic_quotes_gpc' is deprecated in PHP 5.3 and greater

nevermind - It looks like it's because I was pointing to the control panel using a domain-forwarding url. When I load it via the actual url where it is hosted at, the error goes away.

hmm - take that back. When I load up my main control panel the error reappears. Still says unknown file too.

Usually this means magic quotes are turned on by your hosting provider, not sure with yours since its not pointing towards a specific file, check your php config and see if it is enabled.

I don't see any settings for magic quotes in my php.ini file, one way or the other.

weird - i added a setting to turn off magic quotes to my .htcaccess file, and that locked up the website. So I took the setting back out and now it loads fine and doesn't show the error.

Its usually global, hosting has to turn it off. I had same problem with old provider who wouldnt turn it off, effected custom html plugin the most added / to a lot of characters.
