Google Glass: Anyone planning on developing?

Just saw the developer site for Google Glass: http://techcrunch.com/2013/04/15/google-releases-glass-mirror-api-developer-guides-details-best-practices/ Looks like the "apps" are going to be very different than the tap icons on the phones. I'm interested if anyone has a deep desire to jump on this early? And it doesn't look like buzztouch is formatted to work with Glass (missing out on 2000 devices!!!). Ryan P.S. Did anyone get a first batch pair?

I would love to develop for Google Glass ... but I don't have $1500 laying around for a spare set of glasses! Now, if anyone wants to donate a pair of the glasses to me, I'd be happy to make them an app for it to sell on the market! :)

Take your glasses off, take your glasses off, I'm not talking to you till you take your glasses off. Sorry babe, we can't make love without my glasses on I won't be able to see your pretty face, Then you'll get the people in the pub selling dodgy DVDs "really good quality recorded with google glasses 3 for a tenner" poor saps buying them will be watching a dude eat is popcorn and scratch his ass. If these voyeuristic things take off I will be amazed, and you look like a massive prat wearing them

I agree that for current non-eyepiece wearers, it probably won't take off very much. But for people that currently wear glasses (like me), the thought of attaching a very small piece of hardware to the corner of my current glasses that gives me full augmented reality is quite appealing! And the fact that it will work with my iPhone is even better.

Can you imagine the adverts though chris, I love it though, the theory is great. You wouldn't be able to walk past a shop without an offer popping up, or a restraurant and a yelp review will screen out. Imagine if the spammers hacked it walking through town and a view viagra popups appear. Ido lke the idea of switching off and watching the tv in the corner of my eye whilst the missus is wittering on

Well, you have a point there. I wouldn't pay $1500 for something that is untested, that's for sure. As for spammers and hackers, well, I have no doubts that a jailbreak will be out shortly. And you can be sure I'll be taking advantage of that! :)

It's hard enough dodging commuters and pedestrians staring at the cell phones already- Now they want to stick advertising right in your retina? I'd rather see Google blinders so I can make my walk to the train faster..... http://health.usnews.com/health-news/news/articles/2012/12/13/texting-while-walking-may-be-as-dangerous-as-texting-while-driving I'm almost afraid to drive anymore because I that's all I see, folks on cell phones. Now glasses...yikes.
