RSS Feed

Can someone tell me what is the best way to do a rss feed for events/calendar? Is there any plugins that will work for iOS and android? Thanks in advance. TJ

You may want to check out Yahoo Pipes. Not sure if that will work but definitely worth a try.

I just finished with my Event Calendar plugin which loads events from an iCal file and displays them in a native calendar look. Only for iOS right now though. Also waiting on one of my testers to get back to me with okay before I submit it.

And submitted - whew - that was over a month in the working! That gives me 3 in the market, 7 in review, and another 2 waiting for testers to give me the okay :)

Thanks Chris. I will check out that plugin. @shak77 I will also look into your suggestion as well.

Sounds very cool. Will we have to export the ics file from Google Cal and post it somewhere before the plug-in works? What I **LOVE** about that idea is the fact you could export a non-public/password protected calendar and make a public version and no login/oauth hassles. my Google Cal parser only seems to grab the last 20 entries, so hopefully the ics would have them all...? I've been picking at some Android calendar code - but it seems they really opened it up with ICS and it works much easier on 4.0. So is it worth looking for a Android 2.0 solution? Or just use a mobile optimized google calendar feed since Android 2.x, 3.x and Google cal work so well with each other....

I plan to make an Android version ... But it will take some time. But the current setup you just enter the link to the ics file and sit back and relax! Well, if you're self hosted it does require one extra step of setting up a CRON job when you first install a plugin.
