Is this the right place for me?

Hey, The Don here. I have no experience in HTML or CSS however I do have quite good design capabilities (Photoshop/Illustrator), Video, Photography and audio recording skills. I started building websites using the non coding software Rapidweaver that has been absolutely amazing for me. As it is very easy to use with no coding just good visual design and great ideas. Now I want to get into app building as I have some nice ideas that I would like to see come to life. My goal is to build apps for my businesses but also build apps to sell and make money. (I do not know much about the app game and how easy it actually is to make money off your apps?) This might be the wrong place to get an unbiased opinion.. but I would still like to hear what ppl have to say. The apps I would like to build I think are quite straight forward apps. I do not want to deal with allot of coding I actually do not want to deal with coding at all if possible. Is Buzztouch the best option for me? Or is it over kill, are there any other (maybe easier) software options out there that might suite me better? After finishing an app in buzztouch how easy/hard is it to get your app in the apple app store? (is this a costly process? Are they picky with selectign what apps make there store? etc) Are ppl hear creating apps with Buzztouch and selling them in apple store? The yearly subscription does this include all the software you need or are there any additional costs? (I know that some of the add on building block apps cost money to buy) Sorry for the many questions. Kind Regards Don

Don, You are in the perfect place. The only additional costs are: $100 a year to Apple if you are going to do iOS. $25 one time fee if you are going to use Google Play And if you want additional plugins other then the free ones, there are small one time purchases. They are quite minimal. Take a look at the plugin tab. Eclipse is used for Android Xcode is used for iOS Both are free. It is quite easy to package apps if you follow the tutorials. Android is easy to get approved. iOS can be difficult but worth it. I don't believe it is overkill. It can be as dynamic as you want it. Some do barely any code, others do a ton. It is personal preference and need. The best part about BT is the forum and community. They will guide you through anything. Hope this helps. -Shane

Hi Outbreake, Thank you very much for your prompt reply. Yes in my case I would be very reliant on the tutorials + guidance from the forums (both very good selling points for me). Is there any where you can see a collection of apps designed with BT? Also if you have any examples of simple apps VS more coded and worked apps created with BT? (just to get an idea were I could start and where I could end up) Regarding apple store.. is this the main place for selling apps? Were else could make money selling your apps? Also if you could point me in any direction if you know good resources for me to read up regarding selling apps what to think about were to sell them etc would be very help full? (If you know any good source on the internet)

BT Does push, although I haven't implemented it in any of my apps yet. There have been some tutorials written on how to implement push on BT; I can't gauge complexity until I try it. It does sound a bit involved, but a lot of folks are doing it, so it must not be impossible :) There are other places besides BT to build apps, but I haven't looked at a lot of them since finding BT. The forums are good, the structure is sound, the price isn't high but the value is, and they let me be king of my code, which is a biggie. Hope you find a reason to stay, but I'm sure you will! Cheers! -- Smug

SmugWimp, thanx for that. Yes Im really keen to get into the app game. Maybe not make fortune but just try and get my ideas across as well as creating an app for my business that I know will be very beneficial to me. Sorry to ask more impossible questions but. One of my app ideas is a trivia game were you get random questions (or questions from different categories with multiple choice answers. Would this need coding to create or something like this would be able to be created with plugins? Further more (this is were I suspect it could get complicated) I want each user to be able to challenge the friends on there contact list. Also another idea that I have is for an adult app.. that doesent have any porn or sexual content as per say but it is VERY graphically sexually suggestive! Will Apple except apps like this? And if not is there a market to sell it anywhere else?

With respect to the trivia, several apps have already been published using the free 'quiz' plugin that is available to all users. The challenge part can be mitigated through the score reporting function of the quiz. Check it out and let your imagination roll a bit... With respect to the 'adult' apps, I'm not sure. I'd snoop through the app store and see what is already there. The worst thing that will happen is that they will say 'no' to the app. The thing about iPhone apps is, if it's not pushed through apple, the only 'channel' available would be jailbroken phones, and genuinely what kind of revenue can you expect from that sector... Cheers! -- Smug

Nice to see the member badge :) Android apps are far more flexible. You can sell them on Google Play, off your own website, wherever. The Android *.apk file can be loaded on almost any device at any time. All the numbers point to iOS being the platform that people 'buy for'. Android doesn't generate the dollars the way iOS does. However, in my case, I'm selling to my community, so I encompass both. But there are really only 3 ways an Apple app is going on your phone. Sorry. 4 ways. 1) It's Jailbroken. But even that is getting slimmer. 2) It's a bona fide App store app. 3) It's being used with your Apple Developer provisioning certificate. 100 max per year. 4) It's a corporation that paid the big bucks to allow distribution of their apps on their devices (basically a modification of #3) Cheers! -- Smug

Hi Don, welcome aboard! You can make living with this, though it takes long hours at least in the beginning. Apple is more profitable, Android has a lot of potential, but you must be more clever with it. There are good courses at udemy.com on this topic. Look for Chad Mureta, you can subscribe to his webinars... the guys is a real salesman who made millions. Copy the good things from him :) Frogman
