Scringo Questions

I am putting scringo in a new iso app. well i got it to work and i was also able to get a right button to activate it. Woohoo. Now i am confused about the Facebook integration. Can you connect it to a current facebook page?? or does it have to be a app page. Not clear on this since i never used it. Can some assist on the where to put the code. Which folder (where the folder is also). I am not a coder so it takes me a while to find which line, folder, etc. Also it says twitter is integrated already. How does it work? Is scringo by itself or does it integrate existing Facebook and twitter? Thanks

Hi, its nice to know that you got the scringo to work in your app. I am not an ios dev but i have implemented new scringo in some apps for android. Despite the difference between android and ios, the settings for facebook need to be done by visiting the facebook dev page at - https://developers.facebook.com/apps You need to create a new app and register it (with your apps name) on facebook devs page. Then you need to put the facebook app id in your apps plist file (for ios). You can check the following link of the documentation on how to create and connect your app to facebook. - https://dev.scringo.com/resources.php?resource=guides&sub=iOS#Connect to Social Networks

FB in scringo is causing a lot of people problems but is documented quite well at their site: https://dev.scringo.com/resources.php?resource=guides Ignore the initial code, scroll down to where it says "If your app is not connected to Facebook App" So first you have to create the custom url scheme in your .plist file (in config folder). Then add the code from step 3 in your _appDelegate.m file (also in config folder). I put it at the very end right before you see //dealloc. And that's it!

Thanks Mutzy I got it all in but it looks like your app has to be released before you can test because the the requirements of app approval process for Facebook.. Everything in scringo is working except for the login but I think its because the facebook app part is not approved yet. I just wanted to test it to make sure it was correct?

I don't think you need approval from Facebook per se, you just need to have a registered facebook app to get a facebook id then put that in the .plist. My facebook app isn't "approved" but logging in with scringo works fine.

@dragon If you want it to appear on all of your nav bars in the top right corner you can do it this way, bare in mind this will stop access to right navbar buttons in other plugins. IN BT_viewUtilities.m add #import <Scringo/ScringoAgent.h> where all the other imports are at line 280 under this //////// end setup status bar ///////////////////////////////////////// add UIBarButtonItem *rightBarButton = [ScringoAgent scringoActivationBarItem]; theViewController.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = rightBarButton;
