Did i mess up a little?

I created my first app, tested it, archived it and submitted to Apple. Then some time after, i discovered i need to change a setting in xcode from Design to Live. What are the implications of this? Or should i not worry about it?

As long as your App was working correctly in Simulator and on your Device, you'll be just fine. Edit: Which setting in xcode?

The one on the Control Panel, Publish Changes About Live or Design Mode
Change this manually in Xcode or Eclipse. Set this to "Live" before you publish to the App Store or Market. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Design Mode: The device will notice all changes saved in the control panel. Live Mode: The device will notice changes only after you click publish.
If you're concerned about it, you can always reject the binary and reupload it. Or put it in the next version. I haven't bothered with live mode yet.

I don't think there will be a problem, to be honest I don't use the feature at all. I've got a couple on the market now with the feature still in design. I take it it means changing the JSON in the Config from design to Live (Or changing it in the control panel will achieve the same thing). So, If you are concerned... reject the binary, change to Live in your control panel, re-compile and re-upload the binary. What I would say is if it works in your simulator and on an actual device, I wouldn't worry at all. Hope this helps. -Nick

I wouldnt worry about it.. apple doesnt care.. just beaware if you make changes on the control panel it will push the update to the app is all. Since your in the system and it takes 6-7 days for approval. I would just wait till you get approved and then make any changes

Thanks.... being a newb, im still learning and experimenting. My concern was that my experimenting will mess up the app on people's devices. But, as i'm squirreling away on v1.1 anyway, i'll make the change when i send the update to Apple. (or if they reject v1 i'll send v1.1 instead)

If you are using push notifications from BT, you should do a developer reject and resubmit. If the app goes on the store in design mode, the push devices will not register correctly, thus making it not possible (without doing a lot of work) to send push notifications. Jake

I agree with @Jake...I would reject the binary, make sure your configuration data file is set to Live instead of Design, and then resubmit. In addition to the reason that Jake mentioned, if your app's config file is in Design mode, then any changes you make in your control panel will be visible to end users BEFORE you hit Publish. All apps that are actually on the market should have config files in Live mode, so that you can continue to experiment in the control panel and not have changes pushed out until you hit Publish.
