Posts: 6316 Reg: Nov 07, 2012 Tamuning, GU 81,410	03/31/13 12:38 AM (12 years ago) There are two modes; the built in PHPMail, and there is an option to use an external SMTP server, which I never could get to work. Annie took the time to figure it out, which makes it nice. You'd send something from your BT Server if there was some kind of auto response, or 'mass' communication from your host ("we'll be shut down for 2 hours on tuesday...") or whatever. Sometimes if you're heavily spam guarded, SMTP is the only viable choice to send mail. Especially if the distant end requires an MX to a mail server, or some other safeguard.
