What Accounting Software do you use?

(*I* need the suggestion...) It's time for me to move off my aging Windows Laptop with QuickBooks 2006. I carry no inventory 'for sale'. I rent Garmin Auto GPS units, and fix my broken rental equipment with parts I keep in stock, or purchase ad hoc. I bill time/expenses for IT support. I 'will' be selling apps as a product, and will also bill monthly 'retainer' support fees. I have no employees. Yet. For now, if I use additional labor, it's contract. I'd 'like' to be able to find a system that works on the Macintosh, and has a side app for the iPad or iPhone with reasonable sync capability. If there is something similar for the PC and Android, I can bring my tablet with me; the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" tablet is the perfect size for toting around. I'd 'prefer' it to be Mac, but I'm more concerned with the end solution than the hardware that takes me. I'd be interested to hear what others are using and how they're using it. Cheers! -- Smug

Well, being a former CPA, I'm probably not the norm. But I don't use an official accounting software program. Excel and Word work just fine for me :)

I use Wave Accounting. Its an online software, so it works on everything, as long as you have internet.

I was going to suggest Wave as well. For your situation it sounds perfect. It will take a little time to get used to, but it'll do the trick. (and that is coming from a CPA as well) :-)

Wave looks nice, I just have cloud-o-phobia. Thanks for the suggestions! I'm going to try out "Front Accounting" and see if it's worth keeping. It's web based, but I've installed it on my servers. fingers crossed. http://frontaccounting.com/ Cheers! -- Smug

Hey smug, I dont use an official accounting program either. I use the iPhone app iXpenseIt. It keep track of all of the expenses and income that I incur. Its not real fancy. Very basic but very portable. Dave
