dang - just goes to show you - it's not the coding that pays anymore, it's the ideas...

He was on the national news in the UK last night, nice kid. His timing was perfect - he started developing apps at age 12 in 2008, just when apps were taking off in a big way.

Oh I’m not sure if it’s not just the coding @chris1… this guy put together one cool algorithm to make his idea work. That takes some coding skill, don’t you think?!

@Dervalo patent pending in U.S. & U.K. Brilliant! He saw the gap. Study the code. Built the app. Got the recognition. Asked for help. Built the team. Accepted the Venture Capitalist.. Sold the business. We all can learn from that. Just brilliant. The Bigger The Corporation The Lesser The Innovation ~ Nick D' Alosio Kid is going places...he is bigger than he even knows. I love the fact his passion is philosophy and human behavior. He wasn't a techie kid at all. Itunes open up the market to everyone and this happens. WOW! This kid was born after Yahoo was even thought of. Great stuff!

Algorithms and code are important, for sure. But they aren't worth $30 million. But first to market with an incredible idea is. :)

It’s an amazing story. Have you watched the interview from 2011? He was so articulate even at 15. Incredible. I heard the app is not coming out though, is that true? The big boys are coming in and taking his idea to a higher level.

Google understood that the web was a mess. They created a search algorithm and the rest will always be playing catch up.. I was reading about this kid a few years back and his news feed algorithm. Yahoo may now have something here. I will be looking for the one that can help google sort through the 1.5 million apps and growing in the store. Give notice to some 'other' good apps besides top dev companies that are ports over from iOS. If they don't something will happen: Apps will stop getting updated (Developers not being able to make $), and they will become 'dead' apps cluttering up the store. Until then build on with buzztouch..
