Older versions of Mac OS X and Xcode.

Hi all, I am new to iOS app development. I am currently running Mac OS X version 10.5.8, and I have Xcode version 3.1.4. I just created a new application in buzztouch and tried opening it in Xcode. Upon opening it, I got a message that my Xcode version may be too old, and some parts of the app may not work properly. I tried building anyway, and was not able to. Could someone tell me what is the earliest version of Xcode with which the buzztouch applications will build and run? Also, for that particular Xcode version, do I need to upgrade to a later version of Mac OS X. My computer is quite old, and I don't know if it meets the system requirements for a new enough OS that'll allow a new enough Xcode for me to be able to use buzztouch made applications. Any help/advice appreciated, thanks!

I would highly suggest using Xcode 4.6.x (the latest). To do that, you need to have OSX Lion (10.7.x) or higher. I believe your computer would have to be a 64 bit mac, using an Intel Core2Duo or I-series processor. Check out Episode 13 of my podcast for a rundown of mac models and where to find good deals.
