Expand Forum Categories... As well, not an app store, but a store run on apps...

While looking for a suitable category to post this article, it dawned on me that I'd like to see a few expanded forum categories. And here is what I was going to post before I discovered no 'appropriate' category ;) http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2013/03/seattle-high-tech-clothing-store-runs-without-people/ I've been doodling with the 'Card.io' SDK, to see if there was any kind of opportunity in it, and I'm still not sure. It's rather neat in a way; it allows a user to use their credit card to buy stuff from within the app, similar to the article above (in fact, almost exactly like the article above) So, if you have an app (think Amazon, or the local Grocer) with some kind of 'in app market place' you could accept payment via the users credit card (using the camera as a card scanner, it doesn't use a dongle). The good thing about Card.io is that all it does is connect your app/products to your existing credit card processor in a much more portable way. (I was thinking a high tech bar with an app, and the user just 'upload' their paid order to the barista terminal...) The bad thing is they want 15 cents a swipe. Here on Guam it's a royal pain trying to get financial processors such as 'Square' to include Guam in the financial mix (even though we're well represented by several global financial entities such as Citigroup, Hawaiian and Californian banks, etc...) so as far as it goes 'here', if your bank doesn't process credit cards (and not all of them here do) you're sore out of luck; none of the 'convenient' app financial solutions (other than card.io) will work here. Still... neat store, I think. Hope they provide free wifi, and Hope no one has too many questions about the product, lol! Cheers! -- Smug

Loving these .io domains. Totally agree, we need a general category. Have you happened to try Stripe? Stripe has pretty damn low fees! David
