HTML Question

I do have a few questions.. I am trying to embed a HTML page into the app. I have read through many posts and came up with a test run to copy and paste into the HTML plug in.. I am looking for correct size for Android and IOS. My struggle is I can make mobile URL pages but for some of my ideas. I agree with apple (just have a website) I would also like to make the Graphics non-URL put with a option if i need to be URL. Can someone review the following.. I am using KompoZer as a editor.. I threw a table in the mix below. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=2.0, user-scalable=yes"> <meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes"> <title></title> </head> <body> <img style="width: 92px; height: 101px;" alt="SPF" src="spf13.png"><br> <br> Test Test <table style="text-align: left; width: 100%;" border="0" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2"> <tbody> <tr> <td>Test </td> <td>tset</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <br> </body> </html>

It should show up ok... it won't do much. What kind of content were you trying to display? The biggest 'single' difference I've seen in my pages is the line that says: <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=2.0, user-scalable=yes"> Everything else has been garden variety HTML. Also keep in mind while things will be someone 'stable' on the Apple platform, the sizes of the display on Android is going to be all over the place. Cheers! -- Smug

Thanks Smug I am really looking at just doing some text but i want a logo in there too or maybe a graphic to spruce it up.. I posted just a simple html as a example. Is Centering a issue? Sizing is key... any thoughts on android vs ios to make it somewhat close or do you have a android thought and a ios thought for. I was hoping to make the same for both platforms but I know that is tough. I have a family member that wants a real estate app so i wanted to do table to make a listing interface also

I'm not sure 'what' kind of real estate app your family member wants, but I released a RE app for a realtor friend of mine. It's free and in the app/play store, if you want to snoop around. What I usually try to do is make sure it looks good on an iPhone 4; that screen size is about as close to 'universal' as you can get, for most iPhones and relatively similar Androids. Just make it pretty. everything else is taken care of by Buzztouch. I used no 'fancy' plugins on this; it's all pretty generic stuff. I made sure to use only plugins that were both Android/iPhone for max compatibility. We've had about 200 downloads so far (released just over a month and a half now) and seem to have an average of 2 iPhone downloads per day, to 1 Android download per day. The link is off my 'published apps' page for either Android or iPhone; check it out :) Cheers! -- Smug

The calculator is a javascript calculator in a webpage. It's pretty simple. The 'Puzzle' is an HTML 5 page; I used used the HTML 5 plugin and pasted the code in. With respect to the Map, it's kind of a biggie; Location Services is a big thing, at least here it is. I'd take the time to figure that out; it's going to be worth it. Although I'm not sure how the API works right now; they've planned to depreciate it. I'm fooling around with the Google SDK for iPhone, and there is a new API for iOS, but I haven't started on the Android side. Still, take a look at some of the documentation GoNorthWest and Fred did on it; it's a feature worth having. http://www.myskylla.com/articles/Google_Maps.html https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Obtaining_a_Google_Maps_API_Key_v1.0.pdf Cheers! -- Smug

Yes, the 'Puzzle' I actually just cut and pasted the whole page into an HTML5 plugin and it works flawlessly. I like that 'play my code' link; looks rather cool! I like the interactive games! Cheers! -- Smug
